Take a lot of vitamin C, like those Emergen-C packets! They seem to make my cold short lived and give me energy! I'm sorry you feel crappy on such a fun weekend :( Get better!

FI likes zicam (sp?).  It's supposed to shorten the length of the cold.  I agree with pp on the Vitamin C.  Also, try to take a nap if you can.  The body can do wonders when given the time to do it.  There's a reason all those cold meds have sleepy stuff in them.

Ugh, I hate getting colds! I hope you start feeling better really soon! I always take the Zicam tablets (or any zinc tablet) as soon as I feel myself getting a cold. Continue taking a table every 3 hours. For me, it works miracles!

Theraflu is my go-to cold med. I take the night time stuff and usually feel a LOT better by the next morning.

Hot washcloths on my face and neck a couple of times a day, lots of water (room temp if you can swing it), and a scarf around my neck at all times.

WATER!! You cannot drink enough fluids. Also nap or rest. If you have congestion I'd try something with pseudoephedrine (the OLD kind of Sudafed, not the Sudafed PE, the new stuff doesn't work as well). This is nice because it doesn't make you so sleepy. If you think that it's the flu instead of a cold (you are achy, feverish, tired, chills, cough) try Tamiflu. If taken in the first day or two it can shorten the symptoms. Since it's your party weekend, check any meds you take to see if they interact with alcohol. I'd suggest avoiding alcohol until you feel better, though, but that might not be possible :) Feel better!
