How long.....do I wait to tell them it needs to be done?  The wedding shoppe in St. Paul say 12-16 weeks.....our wedding date is April 30th.  If they order TODAY....we will only have about 8-10 weeks for altering.....MINOR panic here!!!

I wouldn't panic, as it sounds like you already have the dress picked out, which is the real hard part. I'd just tell them to get their orders in within the next 2 weeks, and you should be fine. I doubt they would need 8-10 weeks worth of alterations.

One of my BM needed a fair amount of altering (she had to order it 4 sizes too big to fit her bust and then alter it down for her hips). Louise had it done in under two weeks. i think you'll be fine for alterations time.

You honestly only need 2 weeks for alterations. I'd gently remind them why you'd like the orders placed by a certain date, not just "because" - you'll get a better response that way

Also, if the dresses look like they might come in a little late, you could always have them schedule the alterations appointment ahead of time. Sometimes that longest wait is actually getting on the seamstress's calendar, not hte alterations themselves.

I understand you minor panic. I am having the same issue, but i was told that they should be ordered by at least Dececmber for our May 1 wedding to allow time for alterations, so you should be fine. As stated in PP I would just nicely remind the girls of the timeline to get the dresses ordered and alterations.

Ugh. I'm a BM in my friend's April 24th wedding, and she STILL hasn't chosen our BM dresses. So don't worry
