Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Any reviews on these sites??

Haven't really posted anything on the board yet, but FI and I finally got around to looking at some sites this weekend!  Looking for any reviews to help guide our decision.  Our goal: outdoor ceremony at the same site as the reception, Friday or Saturday here are our choices. Stone RidgeMississippiEarle Browne North OaksAnd if anyone has any other site recommendations I would love to hear them!  TIA!

I'm using Mississippi Dunes, and so far I'm satisfied with that decision...haven't actually gotten married there yet though, so your best bet is probably to look at the Minneapolis Bio... Welcome btw!

I don't have any reviews on the places you listed but our venue has an area for an outdoor wedding and choice of three rooms for your reception...so I would highly recommend checking out Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake.  It's near the Ham Lake/Blaine border, about a mile off of Hwy 65.  I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them so far, they have been great to work with and always very responsive with my millions of questions.  Good luck finding a venue!

We were originally planning on doing an outdoor wedding and looked at Mississippi Dunes. They are super reasonable -if you don't mind the ugly golfers on the chairs :)  The main reason we didn't pick them is because if it would have rained, they don't have another space for the ceremony, so we would have had to have everyone sitting at their dinner tables for the ceremony - which was not what I had in mind at all! I would just say wherever you pick, make sure you have a back-up plan that you feel completely comfortable with!

The Landmark Center would also be a good option.  There are lots of ceremony + reception dual sites in the Minneapolis Bio - HTH

I have been to three weddings at mississippi dunes and they have all been wonderful. I have heard only wonderful things. We would have booked ours there too but we needed more room for our guest list. HTH.

North Oaks is a nice outdoor location for the ceremony.  Their reception space is nothing special in my opinion.  I wanted to do fireworks so I checked out all the golf courses around me.  North Oaks had us come take a peak at a reception they were holding—we couldn’t go in, but we could peak in the doors.  It is was dark in there.  Also, they cannot close it off so there were club members eating dinner pretty close to the reception area—I always like the idea of the reception area being just for you, but for golf club weddings it might be hard.   Did you look at the Como Zoo?  The conservatory area is really pretty and they have a outdoors area for a wedding that is nice—plus if anything happens your rain site will probably be in the conservatory so you will still have the outdoor feel.

I visited Mississippi Dunes and was very disappointed in the customer service I received. They only have 2 Saturdays left in 2010, but failed to mention this to me when I called and emailed twice even though I specifically asked about our date. Friday and Sundays weren't an option since 80% of our guest list is OOT, so we basically drove an hour to talk to them for 5 minutes. The place is really pretty and the prices are great though. I second checking out Majestic Oaks. They have 2 ceremony locations and 3 reception rooms. We decided on Black Bear Crossings on Como Lake cuz it was very important to my FI that there was a lake. Another bonus is the ceremony site is covered so you have a built in rain plan. You can check out Bellagala's website to do a venue search. They have pictures as well.

Consider the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, they have a number of gorgeous gardens for an outdoor wedding, and a few choices for reception spaces depending on the number of guests. If you go there, you can bring in your own beer, wine, and 1 signature drink and save a fortune on alcohol.

I married my (now) Ex at Earle Brown in 2001. Granted many things have surely changed, but we had a wonderful experience there. We did exactly what you are looking for and things worked perfectly. They have a few different rooms that accomodate a range of guest lists. I would certainly recommend them from my experience. The site was lovely in June. Good luck! JGY
