Where to go? Wedding license

I feel like I should know the answer to this, but I just want to make sure. FI lives in Kandiyohi county, I live in Sterns county, and we're getting married in Meeker county. Which county do we get our license in. I'm thinking it's Meeker, but I just want to double check. TIA!

You can go to any county in MN to apply for the license, and you can use the license in any county in MN.

ditto this - AND you only need one person to apply for the license as long as you have the other person's SSN and location of birth handy.

Yes, you can do it in any county. HOWEVER... FI's mom and dad own a surveying business, and FI's mom said that for records purposes, it's usually easiest to get your marriage license in the county where you're married. Because if any of your grandchildren, great-grandchildren, etc were ever trying to track down your marriage license/record, they'd probably start with the county in which you were married.

FYI...I would double check with the county you end up applying for your license in on this one.  We applied in Anoka county and we BOTH had to be present (it changed as of August 1, 2009).  I don't believe all counties require this but Anoka does now.
