Postcard Thank-You?

DH had a cool idea to take some of our professional photos and have them turned into postcard thank you cards... I like the idea but am not sure of the etiquette on them. I know if I received a postcard thank you, I would think it's neat but let me know!

I will caveat my "Sure, why not?" response with "As long as it's personalized to the gifter with a handwritten note."

I've seen lots of people that make up posterboards that say "Thank you" and have the photographer take pics of the couple with them to use as the thank you notes.   If I hadn't found a great deal on personalized TY notes, I likely would have gone this route.

That's what we did:)  We used Vistaprint with its "free" coupon...so they came to a grand total of $14 and look great.  I've gotten plenty like this, so I agree with the previous poster that as long as you still write a personal note, it doesn't matter!

You can have the same photo effect while using a note card rather than a postcard. That way, like LS mentioned, you can still include a nice personalized, handwritten note on the inside.

I thought about doing a postcard, but I decided that I would rather have a photo note card. It's a bit more traditional, having the note on the inside, and it had the photo on it that I wanted.

I glanced at the page and was confused by your sn. I was like "I don't remember posting anything recently" Then I looked closer. I'm tired.

Anyway, I think the postcards are a cute idea, but I think the note card would give you more space to write a nice note.

I'm doing postcards for my thank  you notes!  My mom loved our STDs so much that she was the one who suggested it!

I also ditto the idea of photo note cards.  But  I love getting envelopes addressed to me  that aren't bills :) (I'm a dork, whatev.)

Since the STD ppl printed ours in the wrong color first we have 175 extra so I am going to glue one of our wedding pics over it with us holding Thank You signs then add a personal note card inside.
Its a lot of work but I cant bare throwing away 175 perfectly reuseable magnets!

We did this for our shower thank you cards.  We wrote personalized notes on the back side, and everyone loved having a picture from the event.

I said "sure, why not?" but agree that it should be personalized.

Or you could try what my FSIL did after her wedding. They bought either blank or "thank you" greeting cards that they inserted a wedding photo into. It was cool to get the nice picture of them along with the note.

We are doing the vistaprint postcards (they just shipped today) with one of our wedding pictures.  But we have a blank back side (more room to write the personalized note) and I bought the envelopes to send them in for $5.
