Aloft Hotel: A warning

I really don't like to speak negatively about anyone/anything, but I'd like to save other brides-to-be from the same headache I just experienced.

The customer service at the Aloft is terrible. Whatever you do, do NOT book your wedding block with them. They do NOT guarantee you a suite, or offer to comp your suite on your wedding night (standard in most hotels). They do NOT negotiate down rates even when their published rates are lower. But most importantly, they treat you like they're doing you a favor by letting you stay there. That is the most critical problem. Most hotels bend over backwards to make sure that the couple and their guests are taken care of. I'm really disappointed by this hotel, given that the rest of the Starwood family is so phenomenal.

I also heard another not so great review of them, so this just cements it in stone! Glad for the warning.

Yeah, I heard another bride couldn't even get a response from them when she was looking at hotels.  That's too bad, it looks like a nice place to stay.

I myself am having trouble with them. They over charged our negotiated rate and we tried to make contact with the original person who gave me the rate for the suite. Then we went on our HM under the understanding nothing would be billed.  Well it was. Now we are back and trying to get it figured out.  Hopefully it all works out.

<div>I am so, so sorry to hear that! The GM wasn't helpful at all -- my suggestion would be to go through their corporate office. Someone above them needs to know that they're doing the brand a disservice.</div>

We're at the point of getting the Better Business bureau involved on a bait and switch. It's kind of ridiculous thye just avoid phone calls like this.

<div>I'm glad you came back! I was going to say it was you, but I wasn't positive.  It is a shame, though, because it looks like a really sweet hotel.</div>

That's crazy! I'd definitely report them to the BBB if they aren't responding to you. Other Starwood Properties have such great customer service, that I'm surprised they are reflecting on the rest of their brand!
