The catering at our venue is done internally, but FI and I were looking forward to checking out Chow Girls and Three Sons.  I've heard good things about both, and I like that they both source everything locally and are more eco-friendly.

Mine was D'Amico. They were a dream to work with. Did lots of the set up for me on the tables. I recieved many complements that it was the best wedding food, best dinner they ever had. It is expensive - but totally worth it. Very professional service as well.

The Deco. A-MAZING. So many people said it was by far the best food they had ever had at a wedding. They also do a knock-out display!

We are going with K&J. They're not a really fancy place, but their food was really good and they're really passionate about what they do. They are also very, very reasonable. I'd say that they're more homey than top cuisine, but that is a good thing for some people.

I will say that we had a horrible experience with Kowalskis catering. They were very hard to get a hold of and never answered our questions or gave us a proper quote.

We had Lettuce Catering and Lake Elmo Inn in our final two.  It was a really tough choice, they both had amazing food.  In the end our parents decided on Lake Elmo Inn.  They had they better food all around, but were slightly more expensive.

We are using Russells on the Lake.  His food is great, and he can pretty much make anything you want.  The prices are very reasonable.  I can't wait till the reception cuz the food was so great at the tasting, all of us were raving about it for days

I used Brasa... which admittedly isn't your standard wedding caterer... but they were AWESOME. Their high-end soul-food-esque style worked really well with my venue and overall theme ("comfy vintage" as I liked to call it) of my wedding. Plus, their prices are insanely good.

One of my best friends works for Mintahoe. We lived together for most of college, so I had many a plate of left over wedding food when she'd come home from work. Their food is good... but nothing that ouststanding... and all of the good stuff is really pricey. With that said, their service is usually IMPECCABLE.

I was so in love with Brasa right off the bat, that I didn't even have any other tastings... but Chow Girls and Cosetta Eventi were high on my preliminary list.

My fiance and I are using Chow Girls!  We were limited at our reception site to 4 caterers and chose them over Prom, Three Sons and Cossettas.  Prom was pretty affordable, but I didn't enjoy the food as much as I did for Chow Girls.  Three Sons was REALLY expensive!  I'm sure their food is correspondingly amazing, but we just couldn't afford it.  Chow Girls was a little more expensive than Prom and doesn't include linens, plates or flatware (neither does Three Sons).  On top of food prices, all three did charge quite a lot for labor... Three Sons was the most expensive.  Watch out for all the fees that caterers add!!  My coordinator at Chow Girls has been very responsive and they'll be in charge of the reception on the day of since my reception venue doesn't provide event coordination.

We actually decided to go with Three Sons. Yes, they were more expensive, but we got our entrees with them down to around $19, and appetizers for 3.25. Their food was great, and they also provide extras Chow Girls doesn't such as event planning, decorating your tables for you (with your center piece - chow girls charges $25 per table for this), and they will help you find linens, etc. without any additional charge. I liked this  - knowing someone will be there to ensure everything arrives, like our cake, when it should. Also, their food is amazing, and totally customizable. I wanted to go with an "old world" feel as I have a lot of Polish family, and they were able to create that! I'm excited to be going with them. We met with Chow Girls too, and they were really great too, but the food was not quite what we were looking for.

The reason Three Sons was so expensive for me was because I had a lot more guests than average for my venue (250 which was almost capacity)... they're actually fairly reasonable if you have more around 125-150.  If you go more with an appetizer-type service, It's pretty competitive.  I definitely agree with maputz that they provide a lot more service to you than Chow Girls does!  Aaron, the initial contact is super on top of things and very communicative.  As for myself, I'm having to enlist a lot of non-guest friends as well as a rentals vendor that I work for on the side take care of setting non-food things up!  Fortunately, there is not a wedding scheduled on the Friday prior to my reception, so we have some extra time to drop things off and set a few things up!
