Invitations & RSVPs

How long before your wedding did you (or will you) send your invitations? How many weeks did you allow let people RSVP? TK suggests 6 wks and 3 wks. Is this sufficient?

We left about a month. We mailed out the invites at like 8 weeks, with an RSVP of 4 weeks prior.  We gave everyone another week, then took a week to hound down the rest of them.  We had our final count 2 weeks out.

Same as Steph.  It was nice to have a couple of weeks to have your final numbers.  I had a small handful of people change their minds at the last minute though.

Thanks girls! I just found out that I have to print some stuff much earlier than planned. My brother just decided to join the army and needs one of my invitations so that he has proof of why he needs to delay enlistment/boot.

I'm sending mine out the end of January for my April wedding, its a little early but 90% of my guests are out of town so I wanted to give them some extra time to finalize travel plans

Ditto Steph - 8 weeks and 4 weeks. We didn't actually need our final count until 3 days before the wedding.

I would suggest finding out when you need your final count and do a month before that for RSVP's  that way you have time to call everyone
