Millennium Hotel reception

Has known somone or has had an event/wedding reception at the Millennium Hotel in downtown Minneapolis? I'm going to the wedding open house there tomorrow evening, and just was wondering if anyone had any insight. I checked the MSP bio page and didn't see it on there so figured I'd try on the boards and see if anyone knew anything. Thanks :)

    Hi - I haven't posted on here very often (and just created a new account to change my username last month since I had created it originally as my email addr), but I just got married there last month and it was amazing! 

    We had everything there: ceremony, social hour, dinner, and dance for 130 people.  The ceremony was in the dome, the social hour and dinner in the other 2 rooms on that floor and then the dance back in the dome - and the other rooms stayed open at night for mingling. 

    I still can't get over the views from the dome - for the 5pm ceremony the light and view was great and then the view of the city at night for the dance was amazing.  We had so many compliments from guests on the venue and the food.

    Thanks girls! Renee-I will definitely PM you after the open house if I have any other questions about it, if I decide to look further into the venue! :) I agree, just the pictures of the view look amazing.

    It was our 2nd runner up for our venue.  We were looking specifically for places where we could have both ceremony and reception in the same location as well as a place that has an interesting quality to it.

    Liked: 
    -The dome!  The view is spectacular especially at night.
    -The fact that it's also a hotel so guests don't have to drive.  And you can get a really cool bridal suite at a great price if you opt to stay there (there was a special they were running at the time, I think).
    -Food...looked really good (though we didn't get to taste - they only had it on display).

    Disliked:
    -The carpeting throughout.  Ugh!  I get the whole "stars" theme and all but we couldn't get past the atrocious carpeting for some reason.  They need to update it pronto!  Also, a lot of the windows were kind of dingy looking with some bird droppings.  I'm sure it's hard to keep clean and keep in mind you wouldn't see this at night.

    -Lots of hidden fees which is pretty common with hotel venues, I think.  Be sure to ask for a very specific quote on pricing and read all the fine print!  I'd be happy to forward our quote to you for an example.  Just PM me!
