Finished my DIY veil and hair comb!!! PIP!

I had a productive Monday off work and finished both my DIY veil and hair comb!

Here is how the veil turned out:

I wanted a really simple one tired long veil in the right color and I think we accomplished that. It took tea dying the tulle and sewing it to a comb but total cost was under $4!

And here is the hair comb!

It just started as a brooch and I wired it to a comb. My only worry is the brooch itself is pretty heavy so I am going to have to have the right hair style for it to stay in - that or I am sure my hair stylist will have some tricks or be able to advise me.

Whoo two projects done! I hope my TODO list starts to go down soon... :)

More amazing DIY projects from drd! :)

BTW- I totally wish I could have channeled your DIY abilities when I made an attempt at DIY earrings. Needless to say they didn't turn out so swell- in fact I cracked the beads when trying to bend the head pins. I signed up for classes at Bead Monkey though so that I can learn how to do it the right way :)

Ha Heather - my wedding dress...but other than that I cant think of much :). Most of the vendor services I am not touching - like photography - although I guess you could say that is a little DIY as I am taking the digital pics after she takes them and making them into books. Wow now that I think about it I am even adding hanging crystals that I made into the CPs that the florist is making. I guess you could say I am a DIY fan :).

Nice job, as always. :)  I love the length of the veil!  Where did you buy the tulle?

Steph - just at joann. I bought the ivory tulle and then tea dyed it as I wanted a more antique looking darker ivory than what I could find in stores.

KittE - ebay. I just looked around until I found one I liked. It still ended up being about $25 but it is exactly what I was looking for.
