Anyone going to the bridal show on Sunday?

Just wondering if there are super deals at any of the vendors that I should look out for?

I'm not going, since we've got pretty much all our vendors lined up. 

Do look for coupons from the dress boutiques and menswear stores.  Deckci Decor is also going to have a 20% off coupon for decor, including chair covers.

Make sure to try lots of free cake!

No, but I was wondering if anyone went to the Macy's registry party/thingy last night.  I was there and there were a lot of couples!  It was fun and we got some free gifts like toasting flutes and kitchen scissors.  Going to one at Crate & Barrel on Sunday - love free gifts and snacks!

I am not going and don't have any great advice except for don't eat before you go so you can enjoy the free cake and caterer samples I want to go to another one soon just for the delicious food...ridiculous? yes

I'll be going!  I still don't have any vendors booked, so will be looking for deals.  And yummy cake too.

If you are looking for deals, be sure to bring checkbook with.  All I booked with require deposit right then.  Deals we got:

$200 off photobooth, plus an extra free hour, plus a free guest book.

$400 off ceiling draping, which I thought was something that was out of our budget without this deal.

$2 off chair covers, normally $5.  I really only liked the "bag" self-tie type. Which will end up being about a $800 savings.

What vendor was that through? That's the one worry I have - whether or not we can afford to have the reception decorated the way I want - I really, REALLY want ceiling drapings but I literally have no idea how much anything costs. How do I go about that? Should I have the room's dimensions and stuff before I go to the bridal fair??

I'm going, I also went in March to the last one.  What I learned was that it's best for people who DON'T already have everything booked, because you do get some good deals and meet some DJ's, florists, hair stylists, etc.  But don't feel pressured by the whole "you have to put money down NOW" because even 4 months after the weedding fair I was still getting emails from vendors I talked with at the wedding fair, offering the same or close to the same wedding fair discounts.  I'm sure that some do require money down, and if you're feelin it, go for it, but if you're not - don't feel pressured.  The discount will last for a while after the fair to decide if it's for you or not.

Oh, and buy or make the pre-printed labels!  And get an email address just for wedding stuff, or your personal email will fill in a day   I wish I could have a fake phone number, the calls for the next month were insane...

The best way we found to not feel overwhelmed, is by only talking to the type of vendors we were looking for.

I believe Crate & Barrel only has one store in MN, and it's at the Galleria.  They shut down the Southdale and Downtown Mpls stores when they opened the one at the Galleria.
