Wedding photos downtown mpls?

Hi,

I'm trying to find a picturesque place for wedding photos to be taken just before my ceremony which is downtown mpls. During my search, I keep seeing the Guthrie and Saint Anthony Main/Stone Arch Bridge, but I can't seem to find any other spots that would be visually interesting and possibly indoors.

Any ideas?

THANKS!!! :)

I know that you are looking to do indoors possibly, but if you want any outdoor ones the sculpture gardens is such a fun place to have photos taken!

I've seen a lot of cool shots in downtown Minneapolis for e-pics and wedding photos... you'd be surprised what cool angles and effects photographers can get there!  I'd recommend wandering through the skyway system and checking out the atrium spaces in different buildings.  It's usually open on weekends and barely busy at all.  Gavideii commons (sp?) has a cool atrium and there are some interesting sculptural pieces along Nicolett Mall.

That said... the Mill City area is hard to beat for all-around awesomeness and variety of landscapes... must be why it's so popular for photos :)

You'd have to pay for permits, but either the Como Conservatory or the Cowles Conservatory/Walker Sculpture Garden would be great, and they both have indoor space.  Also, the Lumber Exchange building would be fabulous, although I only know what it looks like from the outside.  Maybe also the Mill City Museum?

Ohh the skyway system and atrium idea is a really good one! I second that...and I might steal it for my e-pics too ;)

Great ideas and thanks for the responses!!

I never thought of Gavidae before. I'll check it out. And now that I'm thinking about it, the Foshay Tower building might be good as well.

I completely agree that the Mill City area is amazing (and probably our fall back if we can't find a different spot).

Thanks again to everyone for the posts!

The Library!  The colors are awesome and you can get some cool pictures with the skyline.  We did our EPics there and were so happy with the results!

We did our first look outside Minneapolis City Hall, which was amazing because the steps leading up to the hall are really long, so my train was out in full force:)  And, if you want a totally different fun look, there is a light rail station right there--so you can take a quick pick in the doorway of the light rail when it stops.

Also, there are some great nooks and crannies of buildings downtown--I'd recommend just driving down some Sunday (no traffic!) and finding a corner that you like. We took pics at the corner of 1st Ave N. and 1st St. N.--just some really cool shots of a purple building, red brick, an old factory---all within a block.  There are lots of hidden spots like that, but I'd recommend knowing where you're gonna go first! Good luck:)

Oh! I forgot about the library!! What a great space.

This is seriously my first post ever and the responses have been great! Thank you for all the thoughts and the local board is now saved in my favorites!

You could go outside of Target Field to the big glove and along the First Avenue wall of stars as well!

We took some of ours at the sculpture garden (no permit needed), stone arch bridge, and then right outside of our hotel/reception site (the marquette/IDS) in the street:
