Be Careful Paying Vendor 100% Up Front

I was reading the fine print about down payments to hold a date and final counts.  Here is what it states on one site:

"We require final counts 2 weeks prior to your rental. Once a final count is given it cannot be changed. If you pay in full for your linens and the amount you need is less than the amount you reserved, no refunds will be given."

Somtimes it may seem like you are getting a good deal until you pay for 200 covers/sashes only end up needing 125 and you don't get any of your money back.

Just be careful read the fine print and ask the questions!

Eek! I can't believe a linen/rental place would require a full deposit! I've never heard of anything over 50 percent.

Is it normal to request a full count two weeks in advance? I could understand one week in advance, but two weeks is kinda pushing in, IMO.

14 days is pretty typical for a base number, you can go up from that day but not go down.  I'm more concerned for the ladies paying for cover, sashes, linens 100% at the time of contract and not needing that much stuff and can't get any of there money back.  I have learned from THE KNOT to read the fine print :)
