NWR, PIP My New Kitty Kaylee!

I posted below (Oh my...) about the little stray kitty that we took in off the street.  We took her to the vet today and found out that she's preggers!  She's seven months old and onlly five pounds.  The vet says she pretty much fully grown.  I didn't know they made adult cats that tiny.  And for the nerds in our group, she's named after Kaylee from Firefly.  Isn't she adorable?

PS Talk to me in about eight weeks about getting your own mini-Kaylee! :)

Check back with me after the wedding. Jeremy wants a cat so badly.... I wonder how bad the kittens will be for my allergies?

Oh my goodness! She's soooo adorable.

I didn't used to be a cat person, but my FI's cat bullied me into loving him and now I'm a sucker for a cute feline. I would totally adopt a kitten (especially if they look like her!) but alas, one cat and one dog are more than enough to handle.

And yeah, some cats are just genetically tiny. FI's cat was born on his parents' farm land, and at 12 lbs, is one of the biggest cats in his little kitty-family-tree. Even though the mama cat gets fed really well and doesn't have parasites or anything, she maxed out at about 7 lbs. The adorable thing abouit smaller cats is that they have a tendency to look kitten-ish their entire lives. And who doesn't love a perma-kitten?

Steph- have you thought about allergy meds? Honestly, depending on how bad your allergies are... you may only need to take them for a little while until your system grows accustomed to having the cat around.

If you want to go Rx, Fexofenadine is awesome.... or over-the-counter Zyrtec D is also just as effective.

Thanks for letting me AW a bit.  I'll post again about the kittens when I get back from our honeymoon.  They should be looking all cute and adorable by then.

Steph~ A friend of mine's live-in bf got two cats and she's very allergic.  She went on meds and doesn't seem to be having any trouble with her allergies at all now.  Totally worth it for a cute little bundle of fluff.  :)

Enchanted~Not so much.  Sorries.  :(  The great thing about cats is that they potty train themselves.

Steph-I am totally allergic to my cat! However, it's only in the summer months when pollen is high, I think it 'activates' my cat allergy, not sure how that works. I take a generic version of Flonase and it works great.

So cute!! If we had room for another cat I would be all about taking one off your hands! :)
I have a kitty who is also very tiny. She is probably 5 pounds or less, and she's 18 years old so she's definitely fully grown!
