Egad! Earthquake in New Zealand

There was a 7.0 earthquake in New Zealand today, near one of the towns we're supposed to be visiting for our honeymoon.  Thankfully, there were no fatalities, but some walls and chimnies have fallen, roads blocked, looting, power outages.... yikes!

I heard that! One of my friends has family near where it happened- fortunately it sounds like everyone is ok. When do you leave for your HM?

Hopefully your friends' houses are okay.  We aren't supposed to get to Christchurch until around Sept 20.  I'm not sure what, if any, kink this will put in our plans.  Some of the roads look in pretty bad shape.

I have family in Christchurch.  They're all safe, thank goodness but my cousin said it was terrifying.  They now have a giant crack down their driveway.  Crazy!

Fi and I are heading to New Zealand for our honeymoon as well!! Not until April 2012 tho.

I've been to that area! It was so sureal seeing the photos on the news, thank god there weren't any reported fatalitles. You're honeymoon will be so beautiful! I love that place, the scenery is gorgeous

I leave next week.  I will miss you ladies terribly, but you better believe I'll be bringing back a TON of photos.  I haven't had a good AW in forever.
