Elvis Impersonator @ Reception?

So....FI called me a few weeks ago from work, and told me that his boss (whose an Elvis impersonator) offered to perform a couple songs at our wedding reception at no charge. FI was ecstaic...I was not so much. Thoughts?

Our wedding/reception is all at Treasure Island Resort and Casino. I'm going with a beach "theme" and I can see how an Elvis impersonator fits in with the whole "casino" thing...but our reception isn't anywhere NEAR the casino. It's actually down by the marina completely de-tached from T.I itself. A part of me was not up for the idea, but as I continue thinking about it I know the older crowd (mom's, aunts, uncles etc...) would probably love it..and it may get the party started.

Opinions, pleae? :) Thanks!

I'd go for it.  Elvis isn't my thing, but if the older people will get into it and have fun, and since it's free, why not?  It doesn't really matter that it's not completely on theme, although Elvis did make more than one beach movie back in the day.  In the end, the important thing is for people to have fun.

I know threemarie did this at her Vegas wedding. Looked super cute and she said all the guests loved it!

I think it's hilarious and I'd totally do it. A) You won't risk offending your fiancé's boss, and B) it will make for great photo ops. If you were having a super straight-laced country club reception, I'd say no, but with a beach theme, it's totally fun.

I say do it! It was so much fun at threemaire's wedding! It was a surprise for all the guests too (except for me and Joe :)) so when he came in singing it was awesome! Yeah that fit the vegas theme to a T but I also think that it would just be a fun addition and the price is right! Just have him to say 3 songs and it would be a fun way to break up the night.

Ok ok...you've all twisted my arm! :) I know my mother will especially love it, so I think I'll keep it a secret....what a shocker that will be! :) I guess my last quarry is that my uncle is ALSO an Elvis impersonator. I'm hoping he's not offended....eeek!

    Thanks Ladies!

The important question is... do they both impersonate the same Elvis-era? Are they young-skinny Elvises, or tubby-with-sequined-jumpsuit Elvises?

I haven't quite figured out whyyy that's important... but I feel like I need to know ;-)

They definitely aren't young and skinny. I'd say more tubby with sequined jumpsuits AND capes...and did I meantion the jumpsuits are SKIN tight. LOL. Oh, I cannot believe I'm allowing this at my reception, but eh....it'll be fun entertainment! :)

They could do Dueling Elvi!  Maybe it's just me, but I'd love to see 2 Elvis impersonators trying to one-up each other, but in a fun way.
