Suggestions for Dessert Table instead of a cake???

I am thinking of having a unique dessert/candy table instead of a traditional wedding cake. One vendor I found is great, but REALLY expensive (starts at $3,500). We are getting married at a new venue, Silverwood Park in the great hall. It's beautiful! It has a patio with a fireplace right outside the hall. Thinking of a S'mores station as part of the dessert/candy table. Any suggestions? Know of any vendors??

I've been to a wedding where they've done build your own Sundaes. They had all the fixings there.  It went very smoothly

We are doing a chocolate fountain that we're excited about.  It came through our caterer (classic catering).  I know there are separate companies that specialize in chocolate fountains, but they can be quite expensive, too.

    A S'mores station sounds AWESOME---what a great idea!

Like the poster above, I've been to a Sundaes dessert wedding and it was also wonderful.

Asa  non-cake lover myself, I think you have some great options that could make everyone happy:)

I was thinking a candy bar, hot chocolate bar and cupcakes. (ours is a winter wedding) I love the idea of a smores bar. This is something you could do yourself and will be totally less expensive. On the cheap side you could also have family members make bars and cookies, freeze them and have them ready for the wedding. See though if you can bring in your own food items in though as they might have an extra fee.

We are using a place called cocoa and fig in shakopee.   Great price for desserts in shooter glasses, mini tarts, maccaroon cookies, truffles, mini cupcakes, and chocolate covered peanut butter ball lollipops.  Yummo!  I am so excited to eat the desserts.  A smore station sounds like a good idea.  Good luck, but if you are interested in a variety of desserts I'd definitely call Cocoa and Fig!
