RE: *amshack* + others' Neon Express opinions?

Huh... You've got me really curious.... We had an appointment sceduled with Dave at Neon Express, also on the 13th (at 7pm), and after waiting for him for a 1/2 hour, I called him, got no answer. Then later that night I got a message that he "totally spaced" our meeting after a "problem at work. But Don't WORRY. He would never forget a wedding!". So, I am the type of person to give people the benefit of the doubt, and was willing to reschedule with him, but now it seems he had time to meet with you that evening and might have lied to me. That doesn't sound like a trustworthy vendor ...

We rescheduled, but I am now questioning my willingness to forgive him for blowing us off despite all of his good reviews and prices.

Thoughts?

I've never heard anything but good things about him.  We used him in 2008 for our wedding and he was great.  He found songs that I wanted and weren't part of his library.  He was great with follow up and contact.

It's entirely possible that your appointment was before amshack's, and that's why he needed to reschedule yours and could make hers.  I'm sorry, but I think Dave is the furtherest thing from an untrustworthy vendor there is out there.

I think it's a little odd that you just jumped on the "he's lying to me" idea.  Most vendors, especially those with "regular" day jobs schedule multiple appointments in the evening.

I booked Neon Express and met with Mark and I can tell he's going to be great. Remember, these guys have day jobs and this is what they on the side for fun. I may be wrong, but I believe Dave is an accountant which may be why it's taking awhile for him to respond since it's tax season now. Try email...I emailed Dave and heard back within 24 hours.

I am hoping you are right NuggetBrain, like I said, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I do truly hope it was a simple slip of his mind.  But he wasn't the one that realized he needed to reschedule, what happened was he just never showed up for our meeting. He never called to say, sorry I am not going to make it. We waited for a half hour, and were stood up.

We had to call him  and leave a message, then didn't get a call back for over an hour, then he was explaining that he was just leaving work, and getting dinner... Had I never seen amshack's message that she had met with him that same evening, I never would have thought twice about it, its just the timeline of it all seemed sketchy to me based on his story....

We'll still give them another chance, and I tend to put a lot of faith in people, so I will hope my faith will not disappoint here.

As for the other people who have had issues contacting neon express, they do take a bit of time to get back to you... like PP said, they have day jobs, so it's always taken a while between emails with him. I was annoyed at first, but then realized its just kind of the way they roll, and I am ok with that.

I'm not sure what to say about Dave, as we only spoke to him once in booking for our wedding ---- but we book NE and had Marc as our DJ and he was so fabulous. Just an all around nice guy and got the job done flawlessly. We highly recommend him.
