Inexpensive Venues?

Hi Ladies and congratulations!

I am having the hardest time finding the perfect venue! We are on a budget and inviting about 100 people. We are getting married at the beginning of September, and I want to get married around 7pm. I would really like cake by candelight, with hors d'oerves, but every venue I find has a food minimum totaling way more than I want to spend!

Does anyone have any ideas of great places that afford the elegance and beauty without huge cost?!

It would help if you could give us an idea of how much you're looking to spend.  "Inexpensive" is different to every bride.

That said, have you considered a Friday night wedding?  Many places offer a discount or lower food min if you have it on a Friday or Sunday.

Our total budget is $5000, but I am not including my dress etc in that planning, just the reception and ceremony related expenses.

I had originally thought of having a Friday or Sunday wedding, but the date is pretty special to us, and about the only place my fiance has made a decision! Laughing

If you want a fairly elegant place that isn't too pricey, try the Washington County Historic Courthouse. They're pretty reasonable and have no minimums whatsoever. You can get whomever you like to do your food and drinks. They're really open to whatever you'd like to do. I'm getting married there on a Sunday and it is about $1000 for the rental all day.

Our venue is the Steeple Center in Rosemount.  The City of Rosemount purchased the old St. Joes church and converted it into a ballroom .  It is amazingly elegant with beautiful arched ceilings and stained glass windows.  Sounds right up your alley.   It is $220.00 for the entire day.  Open catering.  Check it out online!
