It is an ivory satin gown with ruching, and beading along the neckline. I am adding a sash, halter straps, and purple tulle underneathe it. It is from Davids Bridal.
What kind of flowers in your bouquet and centerpieces?
Silk Flowers. My bouquet is hydrangeas, and centerpieces will be daisies, hydrangeas, and fabric flower pomanders.
What do/will your wedding bands look like?
FI's is dark Tungsten, and mine are two bands with diamonds.
How will you wear your hair?
I am leaning towards curled in a low pony on the side.
What will FI and groomsmen wear?
Black tuxes, black or gray shirts, with purple striped ties form the BMs and a silver striped tie for FI.

Yes!  The diamond is FI's great aunts but we shopped around at settings and he chose my favorite one

Somewhat.  I snooped around the house and I think I saw the box the box was in, but when he did it I was a little shocked.

More romantic.. We stopped at minnehaha falls after finishing christmas shopping.  I wanted to go home, but he insisted we go.  I was looking at the falls he grabbed me, said some sappy thing and got down on one knee.  I didn't even say yes right away!

I want white with hints of green and fuschia.  Centerpieces something cheap but full.  I am going to be very easy with what it looks like.  Just no sunflowers

My band has tiny diamonds all the way around it and is a set with my e-ring.  To make it stand out more we are going to buy a second band.  FI has yet to pick his out.
How will you wear your hair?
Unsure, I know I want it loose around my face and lower in the back.
What will FI and groomsmen wear?
More than likely black tuxes with fuschia ties and vests otherwise silver.  FI will do traditional black tux with ivory.

Royal cliff is an italian Deli and we will have the BEST pizzas coming out as a late night snack.  Me and my 81 year old grandpa will waltz a dance together which I am thrilled about!

Did you get the ring you wanted? Describe. vintage-y 1.7 caret center stone, surrounded by a halo of small diamonds 3 bands of diamonds, ah! hard to describe. Way more than I thought I would ever get!!

It was 2 days before Thanksgiving, I was going home to be with my family but FI couldn't go home because he had to work (police officer). He was bummed he couldn't go so he said he was going to plan our weekly date night and surprise me before I headed out of town. I got home from work and he told me to change into something somewhat fancy. He drove us down to Nicollet Island Inn for a romantic and amazing dinner. Our server was fantastic and was spoiling us. I didn't think too much of it. After dinner/dessert (which we usually never order out), FI insisted on taking a walk by the river. It was FREEZING and i had heels on and was being pouty because I was cold and didn't want to walk on the Stone Arch bridge. He insisted and I agreed. We were walking and I was taking pictures, i turned around and he started sinking down on one knee with the ring. I started crying immediately and don't remember what he said, but the rest is history

Yes! We had looked at rings once and he knew what I didn't want. When he gave it to me, it couldn't have been a better choice. It's simple but slightly unique which is what I wanted!

We had talked about getting engaged so I knew it was coming at some point. I had a weird feeling earlier that day that it was going to happen but I tried not to get my hopes up in case it didn't. I think I finally got it out of my head when he did it!

If I go with fake/silk flowers, daisies! But I might go with fabric flowers.

I really want one with aquamarine and diamonds since aquamarine is both our birthstones and most likely the month we'll get married!

Either half up or all up. As long as it's out of my face!

Sure!  We never looked actually but he picked out something I loved!  He knew I never would want anything too big and flashy, it has 7 smallish stones (with a larger center stone)

YES!  It was the weekend I graduated college and did NOT see it coming at all, we had talked about getting engaged and whatnot but never looked at rings or anything, so I was very caught off guard.

Surprisingly no.  I'm a huge cryer but I think I was too in shock!  I cried from laughing so hard telling my friends, who were also shocked.  hahaha.

Ummm I guess I'll say romantic.  We were at my aunt and uncle's place as they were hosting a graduation celebration for me.  I'd gone inside to use the restroom and on my way back out he stopped me and said he had a gift for me.  I followed him back downstairs and he turned around with a box in his hands, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.  He knew I wouldn't want a big scene so he did it in private.

He got a sweet deal when he bought my set, so he had all the rings by the time we got engaged.

Church in Eagan, I attended this church since my fam moved to MN in 1991.

My band is a set with the e-ring.  9 very small stones in white gold.  Love it!  His is a very simple, band of brushed (dull) in the middle.

Orange roses for sure.  The other flowers are up in the air.  Orange, though.  Probably none in the centerpieces.

I have only been engaged for about 3 weeks, so we are not too far into the planning...however, I want to post more on here, so I am filling this out!
How long did you date before you were engaged?
A little over a year
Did you get the ring you wanted? Describe.
Yes and no. We had looked at rings, and I narrowed it down to my 5 favorites. I knew that I wanted something simple but unique with a sapphire being the main "attraction." He surprised me by giving me his grandmother's sapphire and diamond ring. It's beautiful, and I love that it has so much sentimental value to his family and now me.
Was the proposal a complete surprise?
I had a feeling that it was coming, but I didn't know it was going to happen exactly when it did. The way he did it was definitely a surprise...to almost everyone involved!

It was so creative! My FI runs a Suzuki music festial in Indiana every summer. I went to spend a few days down there this summer, and we had a great time. At the end of the festival talent show, he had an audience participation activity. He had told everyone to fill out these cards before the show began, stating "I am _____" and you were to fill-in-the-blank with something that describes you. He then had everyone there stand on stage, and when he read a card, you had to sit down if it did not describe you. After each card was read, fewer people were on stage. I stood through statements such as, "I was born outside of Indiana, I have siblings, I am an adult, I get paid to teach, I have read the Harry Potter series, etc..." After the Harry Potter one was read, I was one of three people standing. Then he read, "I am a graduate of Luther College." I immediately started to cry, because everyone left the stage, and I knew I had not written that. He then told the audience that there were two people standing on the stage who are Luther grads, and my best friend and college roommate came out from behind the curtains, carrying a gift, which turned out to be a t-shirt from the festival.  He assured the audience that it was blank on the back, as everyone else's says "I am ____" on the back of theirs... I am a musician, I am a Suzuki teacher, I am a pianist, etc... He then told them he was not going to get on one knee, so everyone started chanting "One knee, one knee!" He got down, proposed, and then held up the back of the shirt after I said yes. The back said, "I am engaged." It was amazing. Are you buying the band for him?
I think we will buy our own bands.

What kind of cake/what will it look like?
We had a simple 2-tier cake with stucco-like finish, topped with peonies... nothing fancy, but ridiculously tasty.

What kind of dress did you purchase? designer/color/material/style?
Mori Lee 2409 in Ivory... altered by the fabulous Louise to have a tulle bateau neckline on the original strapless A-line silhouette with lace all over.

What kind of flowers in your bouquet and centerpieces?
Peonies and other stuff... (in bio)

What do/will your wedding bands look like?

How will you wear your hair?
Updo... somewhat Jane Austen inspired.  Actual hair pictured in pro-pics.

What will FI and groomsmen wear?
Groomsmen had green vests and ties and Groom had ivory vest and tie.

Where are you going on your HM?
We went to a resort in Colorado Springs!

How long will you be away on your HM?
We stayed for 5 days the week after our wedding.

How old will you and FI be when you get married?
I'm 26, he's 29

How long will you have been engaged before you get married?
We had a 1.5 yr engagement since he's in school.

Do you live together?
We didn't until we were married.

Did you plan yourself or hire someone to plan?
I did it myself and am very happy that I never have to do it again!  A DOC would have completely been worth the cost.

Name one fun/unique fact about your wedding!
There is a travelling "Honeymoon Baby" that we received at our wedding and have since passed on.  It started at a friend's wedding last year as part of dollar store decor of their getaway car (the usual balloons, silly string, window writing, etc)... they bought a baby doll, wrote "Honeymoon Baby" on it and left it in the front seat of their car.  They proceeded to bring it along on their honeymoon, take goofy pictures and created a facebook profile for it!  HoneymoonBaby has since been taken along on honeymoons to Jamaica, Rome, Colorado and Hawaii and  turned 1 today

How long did you date before you were engaged? 11 months

Did you get the ring you wanted? Describe. Yup! FI and I went to Wedding Day together and I picked it out

Was the proposal a complete surprise? Yes! FI said that he was getting his car looked at, turned out he was picking up my ring and he wanted to take our dog for a walk at local park, and that's where he proposed.

Did you cry when FI proposed? no, i was too in shock!

Was the proposal romantic or creative? Explain. creative, because our dog witnessed it and it was a place we went to many times before

Are you buying the band for him? I plan to :-)

How many guests are you expecting? Inviting? inviting 123, i'd expect around 100

How long did you date before you were engaged? Around 2 years and eight months

Did you get the ring you wanted? Describe.Yes I did. I was kind of picky about it, and we had some issues surrounding getting it, but I ended up with exactly what I wanted- an asscher cut diamond solitaire with diamonds in the bands ( I think they are maybe prong set? you look at the band and it looks like complete diamonds, can't really see the metal)

Was the proposal a complete surprise?um no. I knew it was coming because I knew he had bought the ring, and was acting really suspicious. But I didnt know how he was going to do it, that was a complete surprise.

Did you cry when FI proposed?
Nope, but I did keep reminding myself to enjoy the moment/night, and I really feel like I did, nerves and all

Was the proposal romantic or creative? Explain. Both- He made dinner reservations for somewhere and asked me to dress up( immediately made me suspicious since he usually doesn't care what I wear) and I picked him up on the way and he directed me to the Saint Paul Grill (first date spot) and he had a dozen roses and a memory book with mementos from our time together sitting at the table. We ate, had a couple drinks, and then looked through the book together and then he proposed.

Are you buying the band for him? I did, but it was just titanium, because he has so many metal allergies! So I guess that was really good for my budget.

Where is the ceremony location? Church/justic of peace/other? It is in a church- so we don't have to worry about weather. Also, the church is being SO great about letting us personalize the ceremony and have a few unconventional choices. Most churches are a lot more strict about what you can and cannot do!

How many guests are you expecting? Inviting?Inviting around 300, hoping for/expecting 225.

Time of day?ceremony at 3, cocktail hour starts at 5 at the reception site.

Theme? No theme- but I wanted Classic and romantic touches to the wedding.

What kind of cake/what will it look like? The main cake will be chocolate with peanut butter frosting/chocolate ganache filling (white frosting on exterior) and will be 3 layers square, with golden edible pearls and red sugar peonies on it. The sheet cakes will be carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Where will you have the reception? Links at Northfork- A golf course/banquet facility in ramsey with great windows.

What kind of dress did you purchase? designer/color/material/style? It is Enzoani dakota with Diana belt- So it is mermaid lace, sweetheart neckline, and a dark embellished belt.

What kind of flowers in your bouquet and centerpieces? Bouquet- Um english roses, dahlias, ranunculus, brain celosia, peonies, etc in shades of red. I didn't want any traditional roses in any of my wedding flowers, I wanted something a bit out of the ordinary.

Centerpieces are half: 3 smaller fluted bud vases with various red flowers, and half are medium vases stuffed with red carnations.

What do/will your wedding bands look like? Mine is diamonds straight across. Thoms is polished 5 mm titanium

How will you wear your hair? Down, in bigger curls/waves ( I never wear my hair up and think women look beautiful with their hair down)

What will FI and groomsmen wear? Black and white tuxes, Thom will have a white tie and vest, the groomsmen black ties and vests. white shirts.

Where are you going on your HM? OMG Turks and Caicos. Is it here yet?

How long will you be away on your HM? A week

How old will you and FI be when you get married? I will be 28, and FI will be 32

How long will you have been engaged before you get married? Just about 13 months.

Name one fun/unique fact about your wedding! We are having our recessional song be  the Linus and Lucy song. Keeping that info out of our programs though so it is a bit of a surprise.
