Oak Marsh Golf Club - Oakdale/Woodbury

I haven't been around lately, been starting school (changing from accounting to psychology) and been buying a house! So I haven't really had much of a chance to come on here!! Anyways...

Does anyone have any reviews of the Reception space at Oak Marsh? (Grand Oak room... or something like that...)  I really love the space, and the reviews they have on their site sound great... but then who would choose bad reveiws to put on their website?? I did find another individual review of them but it was absolutely HORRIBLE! I'm hoping to be able to find someother people I can actually TALK TO about their experience there... or if people know someone who has used the space. My fiance and I went and looked at it and spoke to them there and we both like it, we just want to get some outside reviews!

    My MOH had her wedding there 3 weeks after mine and had a great experience.  She planned her wedding from Texas and had no problems that I remember.  The space is beautiful, but if you're having a bigger wedding, the group is split between a couple rooms.  I think it was hard for everyone to see the head table (in the room off to the side, she had her family and close friends in that room with her), but other than that, everything was great.

    I concur with Littlesweetie.  A friend of mine used it 1 year ago and it was lovely. Just a little difficult for a larger wedding group because they are divided into three rooms.  The dance space is excellent as well as the food.  She had a great experiece with it. I was considering the space but since she used it, we decided on a different CC, Mendakota CC in Mendota Heights.

    We are having our reception at Oak Marsh in September and so far Krista and Deanna have been great to work with. I haven't been there for an event myself, but I have heard good things from  a few friends/family who have been there recently. nice neutral decor, good food, good dance space, outdoor patios, lots of natural light (yay!), hotels w/in walking distance, etc. We are doing more of a heavy appetizer/cocktail party (no head table, lots of cocktail tables, etc.) so the space layout actually works well for us.

    I agree with pp's.
    I attended a wedding there a couple years ago and was seated in one room, and could not even see the bride and groom in the other room.  The food was good, though.  I remember that.

    Thanks for the feedback!! I was super excited at first when looking at food and prices, and I've heard good things about them, but with that one bad one it kinda threw us off... after discussing some things I don't believe we're going with the space, with the larger number of guests that we'll be having I think we can find a space that's more suitable, and not as broken up. I think it'll work great for other people though! :)
