Small BridalParty attire?

So, we are just having my sister and his brother as our attendants, with a niece and a nephew for FG& RB. Trying to keep it smallsies. We have chosen our colors for the wedding, but because there is only one of each attendant, do I even need to care about what they are wearing, if they aren't "matching" anyone else?

I am feeling kind of apathetic, and tempted to just tell them to wear something they are comfortable in, maybe incorporating our colors into it somehow, but don't know if I am opening myself up to weirdness by being so vague? His brother has already asked us a couple times about what he should wear, and same for his daughter, the FG.

Is anyone else doing a small Bridal Party... if so, are you caring what they are wearing?

The only thing I have found that I really cared about was a pic of a cute little boy in a vest. (the img is about 1/2 way down the page) http://www.thebridescafe.com/?postID=697&real-california-wedding-wendy-jon

I think it would be helpful for them if you were more specific. For example, you could go BM dress shopping with your sis, and have your FI and his bro pick out a tux to rent. Even though its small, you can still have that whole "wedding" experience with them!

I agree...you could go with and have a day of shopping, this way you can see what you like and so can she.  Guys are so easy....so just match the level of formailty to the bridesmaid dress and your dress.

As far as colors....if you really do not care if they "match" into the color scheme you could have them wear neutral colors...black, brown, etc....and maybe incorporate a sash/ribbon belt in to match the rest of your colors. Flowers are an awesome way to add in your colors.... :)

    Good luck!

we are only having 1 attendant each too - my sis, his bro- so we're small BP twins! FH is wearing a gray suit, so he told his bro to wear a charcoal or black suit and we bought matching ties from Etsy for his bro and our dads. FH's tie is the same material but a bow tie.
For my sis, we're doing the usual bridesmaid dress search. I picked the color and she can pretty much pick the dress and decide how much she's comfortable spending, and we are doing the shopping together. It's killer sister bonding time! So It's great to give them flexibility- I want them to be comfortable and not spend a lot of dough- but I do think they also appreciate some guidance from the bride and groom so they know what we want them to look like.
    good luck!

    Thanks for the input ladies!

I will have to get out and look at some ties, I like the idea of the similar ties for groom and Best Man.

My sister will appreciate a little guidance in the dress dept, too I think.

We had one attendant each.  We didn't have any tuxes rented at all.  DH bought a nice black suit that he could use again.  The best man wore a black suit that he already had.  I told my sister she could find a dress in one of the two colors that she was comfortable in.  She ended up going to Davids Bridal and spending about $100 on a dress.

It was easy, it still looked nice and a lot less hastle for everyone.

We have a small bridal party too - 2 on each side.  My maids will wear black dresses that they can choose themselves - I told them to please pick something they would wear again.  My sister and best friend have been in too many weddings to count, and I didn't want them to have to buy another dress they'll never use.

The groomsmen are going to wear whatever suits they already have, and we'll get coordinating ties for them.
