Pictures after the ceremony

I will be having my ceremony and taking pictures afterwards as my fiance doesn't want to see me for the first time until I am walking down the aisle to get married.  Could anyone please give me pointers to make this easier on us and our guests as there will then be a break between the ceremony and the reception.  What is an acceptable amount of time in between each?  A friend suggested getting photos that we can do without one another done prior to the wedding.  (eg, my and my family, bridesmaids etc.)

I agree with your friend....get as many pictures done before the ceremony as you can. As a guest, it sucks to wait around for a long time between the ceremony and the reception so the shorter you can keep it, the better IMO

DItto PP - get as many photos done before hand, it's not fun to be sitting around waiting for the Bride and Groom while they are taking a bunch of photos. Get them all done early expect the ones with you together and it will work fine!

I agree with the previous posters---when looking for an exact time frame, I would say an hour and a half is that max I would wait.  That way, your guests can have cocktail hour and appetizers without being bored waiting for you.

One thing: you and your new spouse can take pictures of just the two of you during part of the dinner time when folks are eating if you're concerned about not getting enough pics!

We'll be doing a bunch of wedding party and family pictures before the ceremony, and then we'll try to keep the pictures between the ceremony and reception to 45 or an hour.

I think we'll also sneak off with the photog a little later in the evening - around 10pm-ish for a couple more of just us.
