NWR-Hair Stylist

I suppose this could be WR but...

I need a hair cut (and color) in the worst way, but I'm on a SUPER tight budget. My stylist that I normally go to did a terrible job the past couple of times (sad to say) so...I'm in the market.

Any suggestions? Low cost...high style!

TIA

I LOVE my stylist..Kim Welch of Shear Genius.  She did my hair for my wedding and her info is in my bio.  She's located just north of 694 on Rice St.  A haircut is about $35 and includes a wash, cut, and style (about 30 minutes).  I guess that's not super cheap, but I've seen a lot more expensive, too.

Actually, that's not too bad of a price.

not sure what area of town you live in, but I went to the Ficocello's Academy in St. Paul - Highland area - for the longest time.   Their stylists have their licenses already but have to put in time at the academy to learn the 'Ficocello's way.'  It's probably been about 5 years since I've been there, but last time I was there, haircuts were about $25 I think.  I've also been there twice as a bridesmaid and their updos are around $40.  Anyway....here's the link.  Doesn't look like they have prices listed on the website though

I've gotten good results at schools before, too. There is a beauty academy in Blaine that my mom goes to-- I think it is called Regency. Really decent prices. I was actually going to get my wedding makeup done there until I picked a Sunday for our date and they aren't open. I've loved the highlights I've gotten at Fantastic Sams, if that isn't too low brow for you.

After my hair stylist Amy moved to a shop in A.V. this spring (she's great, dont have her current deets tho!), I went to Rocco Altobelli @ the Galleria once... just got lined up with a level 2 stylist.  Haircut was great, $34.

My guy is Chad at 411 SalonSpa in Minneapolis in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood.  He's been doing my hair for years and does a lot of portfolio-type work outside of the studio.  I think he charges $45 or so for a wash/cut/style.
