AW: Sent out the invites this week! PIP

So I haven't been on here in quite a while, but I've been pretty busy. I'm so glad to have the invites sent out--it's all downhill from here stresswise, right?

Anyway, I sent them on Monday and already been getting RSVPs back--so fun!

I scoured the knot looking for pictures of invites when I was conceptualizing mine a few months back, and I was always super excited when I saw things I liked. So I figured I'd return the favor by providing some inspiration to people who are a few months behind on the wedding timeline.

I created all the templates myself, so if you want them, let me know. It could save you hours (and I mean HOURS) of work.

Am I pleased with the way my invites turned out? Very much. Would I do it again? Heck no.

WOW! Those look absolutely fantastic!!! Great job!

I'm thinking of doing a similar layout but haven't even started yet, so if you're willing to send me the templates I would be very appreciative! I know you have to be crazy busy now that you're so close to the wedding date, so don't worry about sending them unless you get the free time and it's not too much of a pain... dtwedding at ymail dot com. TIA!!

Question - Did you print the invites at home or did you bring them somewhere to be printed?

They look lovely.  It's a really nice shade of green, too.  Great job!

I would like to suggest, though, that if you're putting the pictures online that you should block out your last names and any other personal information.  I've actually heard (from a vendor) of someone's ex calling and pretending to be the bride and tried to cancel the reception site!  You don't know what kind of crazy people are out there.

Those look fantastic! And I had to smile at the last pic :) that is totally how I feel with my invites right now. I am going to PM you for the templates as I am still in the design process with mine and would love to see what text you put on the inserts too. Thanks!

Yeah, I'm not really sure why the posts got cut off on the side... and none of my photos were loading the "normal" way, so I had to go the photobucket route. But oh well.

For fonts, I used Edwardian (I think) for the scripty letters (it's one that comes standard on MS Word) and then downloaded Caviar Dreams for all the regular fonts from dafont.com.

And I did consider blocking out names and all, but all the info in on my bio anyway, and my vendors know who I am by now, so I'm not too worried about anything messed with. I also didn't want to spend the time doing that because I'm lazy.

And yes, I did print everything at home on a regular printer, and cut most of it too. After 8 trips to kinkos and other printing stores that kinkos sent us to, I had the hardest time finding someone to print my stuff at all without charging a ton of money. Kinkos was even too nervous to cut my inserts because their lazer cutter isn't exact. So, it was truly a DIY experience. Also, never believe someone who says so-and-so place will print on vellum. Nobody prints on vellum. They may say on the phone that it will be no problem, but once you drive to the store, they won't do it. Fell for that 4 times.

So my advice is, if you can, just do it all yourself. It really does save you money, and even sanity, in my case.

They turned out BEAUTIFULLY? Where did you get your envelopes? We're looking for a similar green and have had trouble finding it for a reasonable price

I got the black pocketfolds and the green envelopes from paperandmore.com... they had the best prices so far.

    Izzy--you've got mail!

drdfabio--I didn't get a PM from you with your email address, maybe my inbox isn't working? Maybe try to resend?
