Reception Hall- Bringing our own food???

Hello- I'm trying to plan a wedding on a TIGHT budget and would like to find a hall or other kind of facility for my reception that I can bring my own food. Does anybody know of any places? I have been looking a lot with not very much luck.

I do want to have alcohol so I don't think a church would work :-) It would be super great if we could provide our own liquour too but I'm not as worried about that because that seems unlikely.

I'm in Fridley but am pretty open to anywhere in the cities.

Unless you have it at someone's home or a park, I think you're going to have a hard time finding a place that will allow you to cook your own food.  State health codes require licensed bakeries/restaurants to provide food.  Some places will allow you to bring your own alcohol, but you can't sell it (the place would be require to have a liquor license for that).

How many guests are you hoping for? It's tough to even find open catering policies, nonetheless self-catering-allowed sites. I think it can be done, you may need to adjust your aesthetic expectations though.

I am 99% positive that self-catering is allowed at the John Murzyn Hall in Columbia Heights. (Another Knottie had her reception there last year and her MIL catered it.) I believe the CH Lions act as bartenders, so it's probably not an open-liquor site. But... I'd guess it's pretty inexpensive for beer/drinks/etc.

Another idea is Erickson Farm near Isanti (if you're into a DIY farm wedding, PM me for contact info - there is no website but I toured the farm). You pay a flat fee to rent the farm F-Sun, you can have a ceremony on site, RD on site, etc.
