Are you supposed to write thank you notes to vendors?

So far I wrote one to our photographer as I had to mail him a check since we had hime stay an extra hour. I wrote one to our Pastor before the wedding and gave it to her at the rehearsal dinner.  I also wrote one to my haristylist as she did my hair for free and gave a us a wedding card. 

Am I supposed to write them to other vendors and if so to which ones?

Oh, I also wrote ones to the soloists and gave them at the rehearsal dinner.  I did not write one for the organist, but I did pay for his services.

I don't you have to, but it's a nice gesture to let them know they are/were appreciated.  I sent one to the people that you mentioned above, but no other vendors.
