I'm in search of a band for my wedding next May.  Ideally, we would love to have a band play during cocktails, dinner and first dances, then switch to a DJ for something more upbeat to keep the dancing going.  Any suggestions or recommendations?

    I'm not sure what type of band you are looking for, but I went to a wedding a few weeks ago that had a fabulous band.  They are called the "Street Players".  Its a group of older guys, so they mostly play the classics (60s to 80s).  They use a ton of different instruments and they sounded great....also had great personalities and kept things very energetic and upbeat.  I think my friend paid about $2000 for 4 hours though, which is a little out of ourprice range, so we are opting for a DJ.

    I've heard of the Street Players and had actually emailed them for info.  Were they good and did you have a good time as a guest?
