Photographer's Baby due same time as wedding, HELP!

I just found out yesterday that the wedding photographer we had booked for our wedding in July is pregnant and is due the same time as my wedding :[
So I need help finding another one asap! We're trying to stay around $1200 (a little more a less is fine, nothing above $1500 though) for a photographer for 8 hrs and who has a 2nd shooter. I found my previous photographer from your guys recommendations so I'd love your help again because I want suggestions from real brides and not just randomly picking one from the internet. Thanks for your help!

How long ago did you book her? Did she know she was pregnant at the time?

Check your contract; there should hopefully be something in there that says she'll find you a substitute for the same price.

We used Snap.Grin.  I'm not sure how much they are now, to be honest.  But we booked them last March for our November wedding for $1k (two photogs, with an engagement session, and all day wedding shoot.)  I'd definitely recommend them!

Agree with Steph - there should be a clause in there stating that she's going to find the replacement. If there isn't I recommend Ben Berndt - he's great to work with and has a bunch of wedding photographers that shoot with him as a 2nd (who range in prices). I believe he'd be in your price range.

My photog is in your price range :) Very friendly to work with and we both loved our engagement pics.

We booked her in September I think, it was awhile ago. She said she would send me some recommendations through email but I haven't gotten them yet. I contacted who she usually partners with to do weddings to see if she would be the main photographer and has another 2nd shooter she could use because I like the style of their pictures. I'm just worrying because it took me a long time to find someone that we liked and was in our budget and now the wedding is about 6 months away so I need all the help I can get and fast lol

Since you booked her in September, I definitely agree with Steph on the contract part. Most photogs have a clause in the contract saying that if in the event they can't be there, that they'll give you the choice of going with another person at their recommendation-or just flat out give you your money back if you choose to not go with the recommendation.

We're using Imagen. They charge $1,077 for three shoots, and have a second photographer day of (they had two photogs for our e-pics too, so maybe they have a second photographer for all shoots?). They also provide all day service on the day of, for as long as you define all day. And they're really fun!

Check out Ben Berndt Photography and Dana Schoppe Photography (full reviews in my bio).  I loved them both.

Even though your photog might find a replacement, it might also be a good idea to look for one yourself and see if your original photog will refund all of your money and/or cover the cost of the new one.  It sounds like you did a bit of research to find the old one, and I wouldn't like not knowing who the replacement was.

I got married this past summer and we had The Enchanted Image. (www.theenchantedimage.com) They did an amazing job. They are a husband and wife team that was a lot of fun and fit into our budget, similar to yours. If you can't get out of your contract, or if your photographer doesn't find a replacement that you like, I'd check out The Enchanted Image.
