Completely NWR: UTI

Ughhh,,,,sorry if this is TMI, but I am dealing with a bladder infection to the extreme-first one and AWFUL.  I wasn't going to go to the doctor, but it got so painful that I just had to go.  I got some anti-biotics to clear it up and some painkillers, but holy buckets this is no fun.  Thank goodness the last season of Alias just arrived in the mail.  Laying down is the only position that doesn't induce some kind of pain!  Ughh!!  Thanks for letting me complain :)

yup. TMI.  But I feel your pain. I used to get them all the time.  I eat yogurt and drink cranberry juice regularly now and it's really help fend them off.

Ouch.  Those are the worst.  I hope it goes away fast.

Aww!! They do hurt like heck! Did the doc prescribe phenazopyridine hydrochloride (also known as Azo-Dine) as the pain killer?  It's an excellent drug that you can buy yourself, its an analgesic that only acts in the urinary tract, usually works in about 20-30min.  It does turn your urine orange though, haha...

    Hope you feel better soon!!

I am battling one right now as well...what a strange coincidence. They are the WORST. I  slept only about 3 hours last night because of it :(

Yeah, I got the funny pain killer that turns your urine an interesting shade of orange.  I feel MUCH better today....but damn, that was a drag.  Good luck lboerner88...did you go to the doctor for yours?

I had my first one ever earlier this year, the medication they gave me made me feel terrible. I had to go back in and get a different brand, and that made me feel a million times better. If you don't start feeling good, ask for different meds!

definitely try the painkiller - (phenazopyridine hydrochloride or Azo-Dine is the tradename) - it really works great, it's exactly what ssminy had.  Don't need a prescription, its an OTC :-)

I always prescribe/recommend it when I have a patient with a UTI - probably because of personal experience haha!
