Ceremony – Whetstone Park of Roses – A
This place is just gorgeous and was the perfect setting for our day. We lucked out and had great weather (sunny, not too hot) as well, which helped. As read in previous posts, the reservation process for this space is pretty interesting, but I got there pretty early and had no issues reserving the space I wanted. Adam (at the Parks commission, I believe) was really helpful in sending over maps of the space and recommending chair rental companies. We had a bit of a challenge with scheduling a rehearsal because we got married on a Sunday and they only do rehearsals Mon-Fri, but we just went on Saturday and hoped there wouldn’t be a wedding in our spot at that time and we lucked out and had no issues. I really have no complaints at all about the space!
Chair Rental – Main Events Party Rental – A
Very flexible with prices, responsive, set-up and tore down everything on time. They have gotten great reviews on the boards in the past and I highly recommend them!
Reception – The Vault – B+The space is absolutely gorgeous and worked perfectly for our size crowd. We have a group full of dancers and there was plenty of space to dance! Bentley, while a little eccentric, was great in working with us from a budget perspective and was extremely flexible. We mostly worked with Heather after our initial meeting. It was sometimes difficult to get ahold of her and she was an 30 mins late to one of our meetings, but all in all she was helpful in making sure that things were set up the way we wanted. Be sure to stay on top of them about the cleanliness of the bathrooms though, they can be a little rough. The bartenders were a little odd and we got some strange feedback on them during the reception, but ultimately, everyone had a blast, drinks were flowing, and that’s all that mattered to us!
Catering - Boardwalk Catering/Laura Ball – A+
Laura has gotten great reviews on the boards and I completely recommend her as well! She accommodated our request for two tastings, worked with us on our budget and we got so much more for our money than we ever expected. We had comments at the reception that the food was fantastic and even our appetizers (that my hubby and I didn’t even get to eat!) looked amazing. She is very responsive and is overall an extremely nice person to work with!
