Day of Coordinators?

Do you have any recommendations for a day of coordinator? Are they really worth it?

Deven Nelson was the best investment I made for my wedding. She was TOTALLY worth it, and inexpensive as well ($500 for DOC, plus she takes everything over about a week prior to the wedding too).

Kirsten at Fab.You.Less Events. Love her

I also recommend Kirsten at Fab.You.Lous Events! She was worth EVERY single penny! My husband (who hates to spend money) even said that she was one of the few things that was money well spent!

You can read my full review on her in my married bio!

I agree with the recommendation for Kirsten at Fab.you.lous Events and also recommend Sarah Trotter with Lasting Impressions.

I haven't decided if I'm going to hire a DOC yet, but I've met both of these ladies and they're fabulous!

I have the same question except that my wedding is St. Cloud. Any of the ladies previously mentioned willing to travel?!?!

I'm working with Maria from Ispiri Events, she's fairly new, but I'm loving her so far! She's so great and it seems like she's been doing this for years. I ended up using her because of her price ($300 because she's starting). I was a little nervous about it because she is starting but she is really good. It's funny because I didn't even think I needed a DOC but now I just realize how helpful it is.

Shan, maybe she'll travel. You never know. Her website is ispirievents.com

Maybe that was longer than it needed to be. I'm getting the glazed eyes from looking at centerpieces and bouquets. Night all.

I have also been thinking maybe having a day of coordinator would be a good idea, even though everyone keeps telling me thats what my bridesmaids/personal attendants are for. Which is kind of what I wanted to ask on here....I am thinking about having a personal attendant or maybe even two, mainly because I want them to have an official title and be somewhat involved in all the festivities, but couldn't really have anymore bridesmaids. Would it be silly to have a day of coordinator, bridesmaids, and personal attendants?! Probably, but I also don't want to boss my friends around all day and make them do too much work, I feel much more comfortable asking for help from someone I am compensating :) Also, I like all the pre-planning a day of cooridnator can offer besides just being there on the actual day.....

I'm going to put another plug in for Deven Nelson. We're having her as DOC and she's doing the flowers. She's super sweet, organized, and totally ready to take on anything you need to reduce your stress level.

My big thing for DOC is having someone there whose only focus is getting stuff done and making sure everything is okay. I really want my guests and wedding party to be as stress-free as I (hopefully) will be - I don't want to be asking them to run around all day. As DOC, Deven willl keep things organized, get stuff set up, keep everyone on schedule, and most importantly be the crisis-manager for the day. This way, I don't have a million things to worry about.

We have decided to go with Memory Makers Decor in Cold Spring, which is just outside of St. Cloud. It is 550.00 for the day.

Check out the MN Knot Wedding Coordinators section. There are GREAT options on there and it's important to find a coordinator that you connect with! Make sure you ask to see photos from previous weddings and ask for recommendations so you can talk to other brides!

I'm having 5 bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids, a personal attendant, and a DOC. I'm putting 2.5 years of planning into one day and I want everyone (including myself) to be able to enjoy it without stressing over details. Totally worth the added expense, IMO

That's exactly how I feel...I just want us all to have a good time and have a DOC do the extra tasks throughout the day.... I guess I'll just have to deal with everyone around me being against me on this decision :)
