What does it cost for...

A DJ? We were not going to have one, but might think about it if the price is right. We really have no clue what they charge.

We're using Midwest Sound & Light -- and are getting a great deal IMO ... $500 for 6 hours of music (1 hour background/cocktail hour stuff, then 5 hours of PARTAY music!)  They've been really great to work with so far, really nice, really helpful -- and super prompt in email replies and requests.  I recommend them!

When my sister got married a two years agp, she paid $700 for a little over 9 hours of music.

She used Devine Productions, Chris was awesome. Played exactly what we wanted and took requests. Very energenic. Here is his website:

His rates have gone up since.

    Good luck,

$595 unlimited through Nightlife Entertainment on a special they had going at the time.  I'd say $500-800 is a good range.

We are using Neon Express, it will be $350 for 6 hours for their bigger system (our reception site has very tall walls).

Their cheaper system is $250 for 6 hours.

Both my SIL and FSIL paid about $1200 for their DJ.

Ours is a family friend who is only charging us $300 because the PEC has its own sounds system so he doesnt have to bring in any equipment. Steph - if you want his info let me know too. Note: he is an oldies DJ but will also play current stuff.

Wow, I will look into Neon Express! We only need music for 5 hours or so, so maybe it is worth it.

We used Neon Express and we paid $350 (we upgraded from the $250 standard system).  We had music from 5pm when cocktails started to 12am when the dance ended...but he was there by 3pm to get setup.  When we had booked them, I think those prices included up to 8 hours of service...not sure if that has changed since though.

And Marc was AWESOME, our dance floor was packed all night, everyone commented on how great he was.  He kept things going the whole night for us, I just can't say enough good things about him!

We booked them for the same deal - $500 for 6hrs on a Friday. Haven't picked a DJ yet, but the person we've met with told us we'd get an experienced DJ b/c they give the Friday shifts to the higher seniority employees first.

I'm using Neon Express, too, and if you tell them that you're having it at the PEC they'll only charge you $250 (the cheapest package) since they'll be using the PEC's equipment. SUCH a great deal and it's for an unlimited amount of time.
