Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

money, money, money

Hey Gals,
This is a little non-wedding-related but I need to figure out a way to make some extra cash. I feel I'm having a hard time stuffing money into my savings these days for our wedding......thanks student loans. I really don't want to pick up an additional part-time job...with my current full-time job shift it would be close to impossible to find one to work around my hours. So I'm asking around......any suggestions? ;-)

Thanks

Re: money, money, money

  • A lot of retail stores will hire people just for weekends, but January is usually a really awkward time so I'd hold off on a potential second job for now. I agree with the others on cutting back on non-essentials, I'm still trying to get FI to not eat out as much since he has the hardest time putting away money.

  • You could probably pick up a weekend only shift at a bakery too. I used to work Sunday mornings 4am-noon at Bruegger's.

[QUOTE]Great advice trixie549. I've made a lot of improvements in how I spend my money after I made a budget and stuck with it. Look into Dave Ramsey - you can download his podcasts, read his book "The Total Money Makeover," or visit his website to print off his budgeting forms.

I second the suggestion of Total Money Makeover. Also visit http://www.pocketyourdollars.com/ she gives you all the items that are on sale and which coupons to use to minimize your final cost. love love love this site before I do a grocery or target/walmart run. Worth buying the sun paper for the coupons.
