I am PRO favors as an FYI so keep answers in mind.
Also our venue is the Lions Club (Beach House) so 100% of our price goes to seeing eye dogs training as well as eye glasses for the blind in our community, so socially I feel that is good. Plus we joined to continue to help them.
With that said -
I bought vintage suitcases and have bought many pashminas in pale pinks, silver, beige, pale champagne color, navy, etc... (All hues of our wedding but also a lot of options). I am wrapping them in ribbon with a sign for the ladies. Weather in the evening during April on the water can be chilly.
I have also bought lots of Old Navy thin band cute flip flops in many sizes in similar colors and am putting them in baskets. For either sore dancing feet or for beach wedding.
I am creating a cigar bar for the men with matches that are engraved with our info in a cool vintage nautical feel. (I know not all men like smoking cigars tho).
I am also creating a vintage feel Candy bar. All sorts of candies, meringues, french macarons, etc with cute bags for people to snack on there or take home.
I was ALSO - going to add a wine stopped for every place setting as the main favor. I was going to do a Murano glass Fluer de Lis wine stopper. The murano glass is a nod to our honeymoon because we are going to Venice. The Fleur de Lis is a nod to our engagement because we got engaged in New Orleans at Jazz Fest.
The wine stoppers are a bit pricey. So I am starting to cut some corners.
Do you think what I have BEFORE the wine stoppers are considered as favors? Or should I bite the buttet and get the wine stopper and cut other things?
Thoughts?
Like I said, I am pro favors (If they are nice). In my friends circle, I have received nice favors which I FONDLY remember their wedding even a couple years later when using those items. i.e, Wineglass, Margarita class, and one set of friends made a steak rub which we used for months and loved. Things like that - not cheesy ones.
