Music (help needed, please)

I'm not quite sure where to start with my search.

I'm having a lunch reception that last around 4 hours but will not include dancing.  I do want music to play in the background though, loud enough for everyone to hear but not so loud they can't hear their conversations either.  At the facility I've chosen, there is no sound system that previously exists that I can hook up an ipod to.  I was hoping I could get some advice.  Do I look up DJs for this or is there another search word I should be using in my searches?  Thanks so much and if anyone's done this similar fashion if you've anyone to recommend I'd also be most grateful.

Happy Fall, Columbus!

Most dj's that I know of have their own equipment, but just explain to them the venue to be sure. Chances are they may have even been there before. I think you should be fine.

Are you hoping to be able to find a way to stil use an ipod or do you want to use a DJ?  There may be a way to just rent equipment that you could use an ipod with that would be cheaper than a DJ.

If you are just looking for a DJ, my sister was at a wedding recently where the DJ was still fairly new (so not great at getting the group up and moving yet) but very reasonably priced and had a fairly good suggestion. I have his info if that's the route you want to go.

I guess I'd be looking for a DJ but there wouldn't be any dancing...I guess it would still be a DJ who would provide the equiptment and run music for background purposes.  I'm not sure if DJs are what i mean and I was wondering if there was another term for someone who did something similar but it doesnt appear so.
