Are any of you getting your parents gifts? And if so, what? My mom is paying for my wedding and she told me not to bother getting a gift for her because it was an uneccesary expense. I'd still like to do something for her though, I just don't know what! FI and I aren't getting day of gifts for each other, but we are getting stuff for our wedding party obviously, so I feel like if they get something, my mom should since she is doing a lot more. Blahhh these are the wedding things that drive me nuts.

Yes, we are getting parents gifts but we are still unsure as of what. I really have no clue lol.

We got my parents and FI's parents gifts because they are helping out a ton both monetarily and time/labor.  We got each of them a personalized frame and will put engagement photos, to be replaced with wedding photos, in each.  My parents anniversary is a week after our wedding, so we are getting them dinner at a fancy restaurant and movie passes and a gift card. For FI's parents, we got their favorite wines and are making a gift basket for a romantic evening for them.  And of course they will each get hand written thank you notes.  As much help as they have provided, I would feel terrible not to have something to show my appreciation when giving out gifts at the rehearsal dinner. 

If your mom really doesn't want a present, you could get her something little, like a frame for a wedding picture or a potted plant (something that can remind her of your growing love, I like a little cheesiness) with the thank you note.

We found some nice Mikasa picture frames from Groupon that will fit 5 x 7 photographs.  I think we got them on sale for about $20 each.  We also got the moms the hankerchiefs that say "thank you for raising your son to be the man of my dreams" and vice versa for my mom.  Not sure if we're going to get anything specific for the dads.  I will leave that up to FI because everything i've seen online is kind of cheesy.

We are just going to do a framed photo as well. Budget is tight for gifts and our parents understand.

I don't think we're planning on it. If we do anything, we'd probably get something for FI's parents. They're helping us with the planning and have invested time and some money for parts of the wedding, and will be covering the rehearsal dinner. Not sure what we'd do, tho. It's probably something we'll figure out later haha. I love my parents, but they're not contributing in any way to the wedding...so they're not on my gift list.

My dad is getting a hand-stamped keychain with the calendar for the month of April stamped with our wedding date circled and it says Father of the Bride.  Found it on etsy.

My mom is getting a frame with the lyrics to "Mama's Song" by Carrie Underwood on it.  It fits a 4x6 photo but the frame is much bigger.  Also an etsy purchase.

FI is in charge of his dad's gift, and he hasn't even thought about it yet.

I was raised by my aunt and uncle - they are getting a Swarovski figurine because I consider them my 2nd set of parents.

My parents requested that we not get them anything, so we're just getting them a bottle of wine.

FI's parents are paying for our honeymoon so I'm knitting them a blanket (48hours in the making) some stuff from Lush and a bottle of wine.

I think we'll be doing framed photos, but won't be able to give them until we get our wedding pics back (which shouldn't be more than about a month after, actually). The day before the wedding we will probably give cards along with a note about the photos to come.
