Monday Morning Check In!

Good Morning!!

I am down 2 more pounds, so down a total of 5 since January 3rd.  I was aiming for 10-15, but I am for sure going for 15 now.  So 10 more to go!  I hope these 10 go as easy as the first 5 but I am sure these will want to stick around longer and will be harder to lose.  I have three months to do it, so I think it is totally possible.

FI just started the diet with me today, so that should be all of the extra motivation I need to keep on track!

How about you ladies?

    I weighed in last week and I actually lost weight!?!   I think I started at 150 back in October/November and I was down to 145 before the holidays.  When I weighed in on Thursday it said 143.5???  It was right before "that time" so that was even more of a surprise.  I was super lazy and eating poorly over the holidays but maybe hanging out in cold climates was beneficial for my metabolism.  Either way, seeing the number drop was definitely a motivator to get back into my eat right/exercise routine :-)

    I don't actually own a scale so my check-ins will be kind of sporadic.  Basically, whenever I can get to Publix and jump on the giant scale out in public.  It's both mortifying and motivating.  I'm not really sure what my goal weight is but I guess I'll say 140 since I'm 5'6" and like to maintain an athletic appearance.  3.5 more pounds to go!! 
  • good job everyone!!! i went to weight watchers on saturday and maintained my goal weight : i am excited! my goal this week is to get on the treadmill to keep up my endurance....i have another 5k coming up!!

  • Wow ICH I am impressed!  I don't think I have the balls to stand on a scale in public.  I won't even let FI be in the room when I get on the scale.

    I am about the same weight wise.  I was crappy on food last week so it is what I expected.  I really need to crack down though.  My goal is to lose ~9 pounds.  It is just hard to keep motivated.  I am so glad we are doing these check ins!

  • Lol, one of my BMs does it with me.  We take advantage of the whole "strength in numbers" thing and remind ourselves that none of the old men going in there at lunchtime really care anyway, haha.
  • Not owning a scale, I don't know numbers, but I know that my stomach is looking smaller. My guess is about 4 pounds? Maybe 5?  I only have 2 more days of the slim fast and then I'm going over to a calorie counting plan. I've also been good about doing my crunches every night so that's also a plus.

    On the down side, I felt really crappy about my appearance all weekend, which was frustrating FI, so I've just been feeling really discouraged. I'm hoping the feeling will pass a bit when I'm back on actual food instead of shakes. We'll see. The whole stress of being in the dress in front of everyone is really getting to me. I know I would regret eloping, but man does a private ceremony with just me and FI sound wonderful right now...

    In other news, I have two days of cheating on the diet scheduled already (oops). Restaurant week in NYC is pretty much FI and my favorite thing to do in the city, so I couldn't resist, especially when FI insisted that he wanted to take me out to both Mesa Grill and Butter. So...We're doing Mesa Wednesday and Butter on the Thursday before our "engagement anniversary." To compensate, I'm going to try to be good about cooking both of those weekends even though I usually give myself Friday and Saturday night off from cooking.
  • I don't own a scale either.  We used to have one, but our apartment flooded and the scale had to be thrown away and we just never got a new one.  I can say, though, that the pants I had on yesterday kept slipping down and I had to keep pulling them back up, so I'm encouraged.  :-)

  • Great job ladies!  I am pretty motivated, but I am also always hungry.  It is in my head, I know.  I am eating enough - 1400 cal/day, it's just the snacking at work.  I have been allowing myself healthy snacks during the day and cutting my dinner to about 300 calories.  It seems to be working, but I would like to get my calories down during the day and enjoy a little bit more for dinner.  I will start walking next week or this weekend, that should also help!  If all else fails a month before the wedding I will go low carb.  Low carb works for me, although it is hard being a strict vegetarian, but I always gain that weight right back after i eat carbs again.  I don't want to blow up and gain 10 pounds in Hawaii!  I am hoping I don't have to go that route.  Another motivating factor for me is that we have decided to try for a baby right after the wedding, so I want to be in the best shape possible for that as well!

  • I have no idea! I was on vacation all last week and just got back yesterday and haven't weighed myself yet, kinda scared too actually. I actually moved more last week than I normally did, and ate better, and since I was on meds I couldn't drink- so I think that helped! Now that vacation is over and I'm on this side of the wedding time- it's time to really start at it! Agh!

  • Down six since the first! Hard because I have to save almost 900 calories for dinner because the FI gets all kinds of on my case if he thinks I' m not eating enough. Can't seem to get him to realize I need less then him even when Im not on a diet!
