Anyone been to a wedding at the Mystere Mansion/Haunted Mansion? The pictures on the website look great. Seems like it would be a fun, different reception location.

Although I have never been to a wedding there, I have been in the building and will be working at the haunted house.  I would suggest considering have a wedding or reception there.  The people who work there are very nice and the building is gorgeous!  Plus, how unique would it be to have your reception at a haunted house?  Good luck!

The Mystere Mansion is a gorgeous location for a wedding.  However, you need to make sure you choose a date that is between the end of January and August unless you want a haunted or Christmas themed wedding.  The house becomes a themed attraction during those holidays and the setup and breakdown take up the additional time during the year.  Perks for this spot--there is a covered courtyard with fire places, so you don't have to worry about rain or cold months.  Its also on the streetcar line, so OOT guests can easily get there from the garden district or the french quarter.  You can even charter a streetcar if your budget allows.  Tip: bring in some smaller tables than the ones they provide to make the most of the space.
