Southern Bridal Registry - won a free honeymoon?

Hi,

 I got a call today from Maria at this company. She said my fiance and I were selected to win 2 champagne flutes and a 3 day 2 night trip to an all inclusive resort. All we have to pay for is air fare. In order to get it, we need to go to a cooking demonstration Thursday night at the Hampton Inn. Anyone get this same call or have any knowledge of this? Trying to figure out if it's a scam or not.

    I got the same call and think it's somewhat of a scam where they want to sell you stuff.
    Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

    My sister went to one of those in north Louisiana.  They try to get you to buy the pretty expensive cookware.

    Did you register for this contest?  How did they get your name?

    If you didn't "enter" the contest, I would say it's a scam.  (Even if you DID enter, I'd be wary).

    Ya know the saying, "if it sounds too good to be true....it probably is."

    Thanks everyone.

    We ended up going because we figured if we didn't give them any payment information or buy anything, then we couldn't get charged.

    We went. They tried to hard sell us some super expensive pots and pans. We said no. And now we have a voucher to send in for champagne glasses, serving spoons, and a 3 day/2 night hotel stay.

    I got that same call too, but didn't go bc it sounded like a scam...

    I got the same phone call about 3 months ago. I'm pretty sure that it's from signing up with davids bridal. Once they have your number they send it to this bridal company.

    I went today and I am pretty sure it is a scam. I found the owners name and real business phone number so I will be calling them tomorrow.

    FYI: I also found out from online business information. The owners of the bridal registry also are one of very few on the East Coast that sell Royal Prestige.

    Everything is pointing to a scam to me....Undecided

    Did you ever use the voucher? We received a voucher for the stay too but not sure if its worth it.
