Real requirments to obtaining a marriage license in NO?

Both my fiancé and I are from out of state.

- we each have valid driver's license
- groom has a certified birth certificate
- I have a valid passport
- we both have SSNs

Do I have to go through the trouble of getting a certified birth cert. since I have a valid US passport?

I used this website as a reference but keep reading so many different things online!

I tried calling a Parrish yesterday but no one answered and no one returned my message.

You will both need original or certified copies of your birth certificate, even if you have a passport.

Nope.  A copy of your birth certificate (uncertified) is all you need. 

I got my license at the courthouse (and our wedding was officiated by a judge) and just a plain old scanned copy was fine.

I'm an OOT bride too and my fiance doesn't want to order a birth certificate. Looks like when can use our passports since we are non-residents, according to a download of what you posted

says it was updated 2/11 - so it should be the correct info...let us know if you get someone on the phone.

I have come to the conclusion that no one works at the marriage license department! Emails, messages, calling every hour has gotten me no where and even when I call other lines to say I cant get a hold of anyone I am just given the run around. So, I am just going to get a certified birth cert just incase. Tip, check out http://www.vitalchek.com/ for an online service that will obtain your certificate (for a fee of course). The online application took me only 20min!

What about after the wedding, where do we send in the signed marriage licenses??
