Latrobe's trouble - need advice

I've been ready to move forward with Latrobe's for my wedding next year and I'm having the hardest time getting them to send me a contract. Here's the scenario

June 11 I visited the venue
June 13 I requested an updated proposal
June 21 I finally received the proposal after several emails and phone calls
June 25 I requested a contract
I have since emailed 3 times and called once and as of today, June 9, I still don't have a contract

Am I crazy? Is this normal? I have been trying to be patient but having worked in the industry I know that it would never have taken me 2 weeks to send a contract to a bride that was interested in my venue.

If you were me would you start looking elsewhere? I'm not willing to sign a contract with any other vendors (photographer, florist, etc.) until I know I have my date and venue locked in. Waiting for this contract is holding everything up.

What do you ladies think?

Re: Latrobe's trouble - need advice

  • We are also marrying at Latrobe's, and I must say, it IS a MUCH longer process than I'd hoped!  It did take us several weeks  to get questions answered and a final contract in our hands.  I was getting worried as well, but tried to be patient, as she did say they are busier than ever there.   I'm finding in general things move at a different pace in NO than they do here in WI, so while it's frustrating for a bride that wants to wrap things up (that's me!), it just seems to be the way of the Big Easy. :(

I haven't heard/seen on negative review on Latrobe's other than the initial process taking a bit, so I'm confident when the day comes, they'll be on top of it.

    Good luck!

<div>Thank you! I totally needed to hear this today. I also had read nothing but great reviews and everyone I've talked with is so nice, so I was starting to get a little disheartened with how long it has been taking but it is good to know that someone else is going through the same and it's not just me. I love the place and I'm not ready to give up yet so I'll just have to try and calm the northern girl in me and just be patient. Thanks again! Best of luck to you as well. </div>

I am actually in the middle of doing the same thing right now! I sent over my "contract questions" last week and am waiting on a contract from them. I have my photographer, DJ, etc lined up but like you don't want to sign anything. Glad I read this so i know to stop harrassing them ;)

[QUOTE]Who have you guys been working with?  We met with Rylan last Monday, emailed her Thursday that we wanted to move forward.  She sent us a list of questions that night and then had a "contract" to us the next day.  We have a hard time getting her on the phone to answer our final questions, but she's been pretty great about emails. I agree in that I haven't heard any bad reviews about them, so maybe it's just been an "off week" for them or something.

We originally met with Rylan and I've also spoke with and emailed Milli Adler. They have sent me the "event agreement" which is basic contract terms and conditions however I've been waiting on what I think they call the "contract letter" which details the specifics of my event (date, time, cost, etc.) for about 2 weeks now. I'm hoping this is just an off month and that it won't continue through my planning.
  • I was married at Latrobe's 2 weeks ago, and although I initially received the contract early on in my planning last Oct., the plans were not "finalized" until the week of my wedding. So stressful.... All I can say is your gonna have to have a lot of patience and have faith that your wedding will be amazing in the end. PM me if you have questions or need more details.
  • Nadia, what do you mean things weren't finalized. Who were you working with and what were the problems?
