Unpurchased registry items

Just wanted to see what you ladies did after your wedding with unpurchased registry items.

Did you prioritize and use gift cards for important items?

Did anyone take advantage of "registry completion savings" options.

Anyone else find it funny that BB&B offers a one time use 10% off coupon, not able to be combined with other coupons, when their normal coupons are 20% off?

Vendor reviews coming soon from our wedding 3/10/12!

I just used the completion discount at BBB this weekend.  I complained that it was only 10% since they have a million 20% coupons in the mail, but I dind't have enough.  Surprise, they gave me 20% off the total.  I guess sometimes it pays to be the squeaky wheel :-)

We used all the BBB gift cards we received and prioritized, like you said, but I think we ultimately don't even need the things we left behind.

Btw, I wouldn't be too hasty about doing the completion because  a month after the wedding, we still have gifts trickling in, even from people who didn't attend.

    Looking forward to your reviews!
  • That's funny, I tweeted BB&B that I found it odd that it was only 10% off and they tweeted back saying:

Our 20% offer is valid towards 1 item- our Completion dscnt is 10% off all ur remaining registry items. Hope this helps clarify

Execpt you can use like 100 20% off coupons at a time and I would think using individual 20% off coupons would equate to a better deal than the 1 shot 10% off everything coupon.

Anyways, I'll complete some of our stuff there nonetheless.  Thanks for the advice regarding waiting a little while!
  • for those trying to complete registry items you might post requesting coupons.  I know on some baby sites I use they often do coupon trading/donating.  I have a million of those too, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone posted requesting extra coupons if they got a ton.....most people wouldn't mind the stamp to send a couple, especially if the favor came back around when they were trying to complete their registry!
