Louisiana-New Orleans

One year to go!

And I have only booked the Wax Museum for the reception and Sabree Hill for photographer.

Still looking for a ceremony venue. Has anyone contacted the Montegut House lately? The posts with contact info are kind of old so I was wondering if anyone had more recent info or any pricing.

Also, my welcome dinner/party plan fell through and I'm looking for some really inexpensive options in or close to the FQ. This will be very casual. Lots of kids and teens.

Same thing for brunch on Sunday. My immediate family is 40 people but I'm not sure what their travel plans will be.

For your welcome dinner/party, I think Ngddvm had her RD at the Rock & Bowl which sounded like a fun location for something casual and affordable.

For our farewell brunch we went to Antoine's.  They gave us a private room for our group of 35 and just presented the jazz brunch menu, which kept everything to below $40/pp including a mimosa for each guest.  We loved the food, service and setting.

  • Bezlu is right, we had a Welcome Party (instead of a RD) at Rock N Bowl. It was $20/person for 2.5 hours of bowling with food (chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, pizza) and beer/wine included. The food was actually really good and it is a very fun atmosphere. I'm not sure what you are looking for in terms of ceremony, but I loved our venue - the courtyard of Hermann-Grima House. It was $1000 for the ceremony, but I don't think it would be a good space for more than 75 people. Let me know if you want any more info about either Rock N Bowl or HG. I can email you package info if you'd like!

  • Thanks!

ngddvm1 - did you have chairs for your ceremony? It seems like every picture I saw of a ceremony at H-G house, there are either no chairs or they seem awkwardly set up.

  • We did have chairs set up, but we only had 40 guests. My photographer shot another wedding there where it looked like they had 60-70 guests and there were chairs for that wedding as well. There was a post on this board a couple of months ago where a bride said the chairs were set up awkwardly, but I'm pretty sure she had 100 or so guests. The courtyard is gorgeous, just too small for a big wedding (in my opinion). The other thing to mention is that our wedding was on a Sunday evening. Another bride who had hers at HG on a Saturday evening complained of noise, which I could definitely understand would be a problem; the courtyard is half a block from Bourbon Street. Just some things to keep in mind :-)

  • bezelpup -  are you still looking for info on Montegut? I think that's where we're going to have our ceremony too.
  • Chrissy possibly. Did you get any information on it? I haven't had a chance to call them yet.
  • Ok I just sent you a PM with information and updates.
