I'm an OOT bride, my Month-of-coord is MIA, and my wedding at Hotel Mazarin is in 19 days!

Here are the first new problems - as I said, I am an OOT bride being married at the former St Louis hotel, now Hotel Mazarin - in 19 days.

My month-of-coordinator has vanished, not replying to my emails for weeks now.  Yes, I have paid her in full already.  I can see her posting on FB and such - but I am trying to give her the benefit of doubt and hope that she is just on vacation and will start answering my emails soon. 

I just found out that the hotel won't let guests use their ladder to decorate, so now I have to find someone to hire in NO to help me hang 60 paper lanterns.  Where do you find someone just to help decorate?  The florist is handling the flowers and such, but I can't ask her to get on a ladder and hang 60 lanterns!  Now I am not even sure who will help decorate the tables for the reception - since the wedding and reception are in the same place, I don't think the florist will still be around when the courtyard needs to be turned over for the reception.  And who knows if the wedding coordinator will actually show up either?

My contract with the hotel states that they handle all table linens, so stupidly, I assumed that meant chair covers.  Apparently not (I found that out a few hours ago) - and their chairs don't appear to be a standard size.  I have searched ebay, amazon, and the internet in general - and the chair dimensions the hotel provided don't appear to fit any covers available.  Can anyone who has used the Hotel Mazarin for their wedding or reception recommend anywhere that has chair covers that will fit the darn chairs?

I am starting to panic!  This is becoming a nightmare!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    I'm so sorry.  This sounds so incredibly stressful.  Are you looking to hire another coordinator or are you going to keep trying to get in touch with the one you've paid?

    Your coordinator should be able to help you figure out these issues, but in lieu of that, I would ask the coordinator at the Hotel Mazarin to ask for suggestions about the ladder and chair covers.

    Oh my goodness! That is a little odd that your month of coordinator is not responding but is still posting on FB. Honestly, you do have a situation on your hands. Contact the hotel to see if THEY have an on site coordinator who can help! If not I can refer you to my NOLA wedding coordinator. At least you can speak to someone who can give you a straight up assessment of how to get things taken care of before your wedding day! Good luck and please keep us posted!

    Oops! I just realized that the bride who replied before me already posted the link to my NOLA wedding coordinator. Her name is Lu and she is a straight shooter.

    Who is your coordinator? Sounds a lot like the one I had to fire! So sorry this is happening to you!!

    Not to be a negative nelly, but if you are 18 days out and your month of coordinator is not constantly communicating with you (hello it is the month of!), I would assume she isn't going to show up and I would come up with a Plan B asap to hire someone else or solicit the help of the hotel staff to get it done for you (or point you in the right direction).   This sucks for you and you have the right to start panicking.  I would give Lu a call and see what she can do for you.  You don't need that kind of stress 18 days out.  :(

    I think you are right - I hired the coordinator to take stress off of myself and handle things that I can't do as I am out of town - but she isn't doing anything.  I guess I have a hard time believing that someone could do such a thing!  She had really good reviews from lots of brides, but I am wondering if they hired her as a full coordinator, rather than a month-of coordinator.  Maybe she feels she doesn't need to waste time on the small contracts.  Unfortunately, the hotel coordinator isn't much help either.  She answers calls and email, but she doesn't seem to have any suggestions outside of the hotel piece.  Sigh.  I need to start looking for another one and see if I can dispute the credit card payments.
