Step into Spring - Day 3

Re: Step into Spring - Day 3

  • Not necessary. People feel pressured in to taking the signature drink even if they don't like what's in it. People like to drink what they want.

Even though I am wearing cowboy boots at the ceremony - these would be perfect for my change of wardrobe for the after party!! LOVE!
  • <div>We get one for free since their the preferred caterer for our coordinator. We haven't decided officially but some spin on a mojito would be fun since it's one of my fav drinks and it's the end of summer!</div><div>

We are not having alcohol at our wedding. My family as well as my FI's family are very religious. We mutually chose not to provide alcohol purely out of respect. But, if we were serving alcohol, our signature cocktail would most definitely have a spiked apple cider to go along with our fall themed wedding!

    apple cider
    dark rum

    cinnamon schnapps

Granny Smith apple, peeled, cut into large chunks
    lemon, juiced

  • In Response to Step into Spring - Day 3:
I guess our signature drink would be sweet tea - most people coming don't drink alcohol, so it's either that or Bud Light LOL

We are having a signature drink.  Our colors are blue so we wanted to have a Blue Margarita. We are both fanatics about margaritas, so we found a drink we both like and is our colors.  Plus they are so good!
  • Hmm we haven't decided a signature drink but I'd lean towards champagne with sugar around the rim and strawberry garnish.
  • We are definitely having a signature drink at our wedding! It's a Rosetta St. Germaine and a Brut Rosa with a strawberry garnish. Pretty pink in color and a very refreshing and springy drink for our wedding, which is the first week of spring next year!
  • We are not having a signature cocktail but we are giving everyone a mason jar to fill it up with whatever they like!
  • We are doing three signature cocktails, one for the bride, one for the groom, and one inspired by our honeymoon (Hawaii). Both the bride and grooms drinks are inspried by their favorite colors, in which the drinks turn into that color.

    Bride's cocktail:
    Her favorite color is purple
    1 oz vodka
    1/2 oz blue curacao
    & cranberry juice

    Groom's cocktail:
    His favorite color is green
    1/2 ounce midori melon liqueur
    1/2 ounce peach schnapps
    1/2 ounce blue curacao
    1 1/2 ounces prepared sweet-and-sour mix
    1 1/2 pineapple juice

    Honeymoon:
Classic Mai Tai because you can't go to Hawaii without having a Mai Tai!
    1/4 ounce grenadine
    1/2 ounce almond syrup
    1/2 ounce white rum
    1/2 ounce orange Curacao
    1 ounce orange juice
    1 ounce prepared sweet-and-sour mix
    2 ounces pineapple juice
    1/2 ounce Bacardi dark rum
    1/2 ounce Meyer's dark rum

    Tongue Out

  • We're doing a combination of our favourite drinks- scotch for the bride and club soda for the groom= a modern take on scotch and soda!

  • Haven't really considered this yet... but we are having a full open bar, so there is that! :)
  • White sangria with floating edible pansies!
Wouldn't these sparkly pumps pair perfectly?!

In Response to Step into Spring - Day 3:

Since our wedding is in the fall we are thinking fall themed cocktails along the lines of these below. We still have to meet next month with our reception planner for the final names and drink choices of course the best part the tasting =) but we defiantly want to have drinks with our themes and change the names up a bit to reflect us as well. These are our base ideas for now: Wedding date 10/5/13

    Pumpkin Divine
    Ingredients:
    - 1 part Grey Goose La Poire flavored vodka
    - 1 part pumpkin butter
    - 1/2 part triple sec
    - 1/2 part simple syrup
    - Pinch of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and ginger
    - Grated nutmeg and apple chip for garnish

    Winds of Fall

    2 oz Bourbon
    0.5oz lemon juice
    0.5oz maple syrup
1 oz fresh organic apple juice
    1 oz passionfruit juice
    ¼ oz campari
    1t honey

Shake and strain. Serve in rocks glass with large ice cubes. Garnish speared apple-slices.

  • We are hoping to have three! Not sure what yet but we want to have a "His", "Hers" and "Ours"!
  • <div>We are planning to keep it simple with wine and champagne.</div><div>

We are having a "Havana Nights" theme and our signature drinks are Hemmingway's and Mojitos!
  • My fiance and I love Moscow Mules but they require copper mugs which are expensive and our venue does not have copper mugs. So, I found "The New Moscow Mule" on Pinterest and want to try it out.

    3 muddled lime wedges
    1.5 oz vodka
    1.5 oz ginger-chili simple syrup
Modelo Especial Beer or other neutral beer

Muddle lime wedges in a pint glass. Add the chili-ginger simple syrup and vodka. Fill with ice and shake vigorously. Top with beer and stir to blend.

Note: you can also substitute the vodka with tequila, should that be your preference.

  • We will have beer and wine to keep people from getting TOO crazy! :)

We really want to have one, unfortunately, we can't afford it. Any suggestions?
  • We're having a blue cocktail to go with our main color. Hypnotiq, coconut rum, and pineapple juice!
  • Yes, we will be having signature drinks! Our plan is to have the bridal party over for a dinner party to experiment and concoct the two bevies, one the "mr" and the other the "mrs".
  • My new last name will be Bird, so we're having Bird Punch on our special day :)
