Timing of Toasts?

We are having a buffet dinner...would toasts be done before tables go to the buffet or after people have their meals? I am thinking before, but I can't seem to recall how this was done at other weddings. Thanks!

I would do the toasts after people already had a chance to get food.  This way they aren't hungry and restless while toasts are going on and they'll be able to enjoy them more.  We just discussed the order of things the other night.  Tentatively...First Dance, Hora, blessing over bread/wine, dinner, toasts, father/daughter, mother/son, dance, cake/dessert, dance...

I think we're going to do them after people have gotten food and are back at their tables

I think that there are some differences amoung cultures.  For instance at Italian Weddings it is traditional to do the toasts before dinner.  This is how we did it for me and my sisters wedding.  (And all of our cousins too.  However, my brother married a Canadian woman and they traditionally do the toasts after dinner.  There isn't really a right or wrong way to do it.
