Ceremony music

Hello!  FI and I want to hire a string quartet, or some variation, for our ceremony.  I remember reading a post a while ago with tips on cost.  For some reason whenever I search on the Baltimore board it doesn't come up with any results.... so, I apologize for any duplication!I found the phone number for the Peabody Musician Referral service.  Does anyone know how to go about contacting UMBC for student musicians?  Our ceremony is 30 minutes, so it would be no more than an hour of playing.  We do want them to learn two songs though.  Are musicians usually willing to learn songs?  How much does this cost?  I thought it was something like $100/hour/musician.  TYIA!!!By the way, this board has been a great resource to me.  I don't have lots of time to post, but I try to read through things that catch my eye every few weeks :)

I remembered that I originally contacted the music dept. at UMBC and they have someone specifically who works on this. If you don't have any luck I can give you the contact of the person we are using at UMBC. We are just having a duo, and I believe we're paying $250 for just about an hour. Good luck!

We are using the Charm City Quartet for our ceremony music. Their prices are good, and they have open rehearsals so you can check them out. You can also go to http://www.gigmasters.com/ and get quotes from several different groups. Good luck!

Thank you all so much!  All responses were really helpful.  I think I should be able to find someone no problem now.
