OSU & Anita Kline!

alright ladies, i am in the beginning stages of planning my wedding for july of 2011, we are doing an OSU theme, our venue is the osu student union, we have a photographer, the band and of course the venues, so anyone out there who has maybe done an ohio state theme or been to an osu theme wedding and know of any great vendors who would have experience with the theme or can give me any advice i would very much appreciate it!

also i have heard such amazing feedback on this anita kline cake lady but cant find a phone number for her anywhere, if anyone knows her tel # that would be awesome, i emailed but no response yet and would like to get in touch with her ASAP!

I don't know if it is accurate, but it might be worth a shot.  I did not use Anita as my cake vendor so I do not have her ph. #.  Many girls on this board did, so maybe one of them can verify this number.

jaimelynn -- we are getting married at the Union as well (July 9). Which room are you using? We are not doing a OSU theme per se, but it will be there subtly. We will be doing scarlet and gray as our colors, but not doing anything else that would make it really obvious.....mostly because I went to the University of Maryland, not OSU.  As for themes, it depends on how far you want to go. I'm pretty sure any vendor around here has done it. I've seen some block O ice sculptures. I was trying to upload a picture from a bridal show that was a very OSU themed cake. I do not know who the baker was, I wasn't paying attention at that time since we already picked Anita Kline to do our cake.
I'll describe it since I can't post it: looked like buttercream. the tiers each had a red ribbon with a gray ribbon centered onto it. Then had buckeyes and buckeye leaves on each tier. The cake topper was a block O, and a bride on the back of her groom holding a football.

Contact the Ohio State Alumni Band, for a donation and boxed dinner they will come and play some music during your reception.  There is also the group we are using  called Buckeye Brass (also OSU band alumni) since the Alumni Band can only do one event per week and they had already been booked.  I do not have any of the contact info because my DOC set it up for me, but I am sure you can find it somewhere.... I am surprising my FI with this, super excited for it.

thank you all so much for the great ideas and informaion, if anyone gets anymore ideas keep them coming :-) and  i actually met with anita today and she is wonderful, cant wait to see my cake!
