Maryland-Baltimore

Brewer's Art or other suggestions?

My FI and I live in DC, but absolutely love Baltimore and would love to have our marriage celebration (this may just be a big party since we might JOP) in Baltimore.  We're currently beginning to look at venues, but we really want something laid back that won't require much planning from us.

We were thinking something along the lines of Brewer's Art.  Has anyone looked at having their reception at Brewer's Art?  What about other venues in the downtown Baltimore area?

If so, can you give a price estimate for what you got?  We're probably only going to do beer, wine, and apps as we'd like to start around 8pm.

Brewer's Art is awesome. The only downside is that they don't really have a private area.

I'd also check out Blue Hill. We considered having our wedding there. They have a private dining room for 50 people but you can also rent out the whole second floor if you need more room. They also have a pretty patio if you're getting married in warmer weather. Their food is great and their private event person is very responsive.

Awesome, thanks!  Brewer's Art would definitely pose a challenge because of size/setup since you're right about it being less than private.  I'll definitely check out Blue Hill--the menu looks AWESOME!

Pazo might be another venue - they've got private rooms too.  Also, The Wine Market in Locust Point has amazing food, and I think they now have access to the gallery space next to them for private parties. Good Luck!
  • Wow great suggestion, thanks! I'm bummed this is now buried-I might need to repost if I end up looking for additional potential venues.
  • We got married at the Edgar Allen Poe Museum. It is a beautiful venue.

    Westminster Hall is also beautiful!

I would also highly recommend our photographer Soheil Soheily who knows all the vendors. http://www.soheilphotography.com

  • Check out the Visionary Art Museum, we're getting married in the Scuplture Barn. It's an awesome location, right beside Fed Hill Park for pictures. Plus for us the area is pretty sentimental.

  • Also we're having our rehersal dinner at Brewer's Art and I love that place, although the other posters are right about them not having an entirely private space.
